I call this my OG church because this is the church I was baptized in and grew up in on and off… even though we were so inconsistent with church, the churches members never stopped showing up for us. I still know a lot of them to this day even though it’s only the Spanish ward now, but the missionaries and some of the members speak both. I plan to learn Spanish going there since I felt prompted my entire life. I visited last Sunday and of course as always my FAMILY-because they truly act like my brothers and sisters in this church-showed me so much love and recognized me. Everytime I’ve been away from the church for awhile wether it have been Manchester ward, waterbury ward Spanish/and English, Southbury, and Southington wards, the people I know are almost like in tears of joy to see me again, and so affectionate. I can tell these people are truly tested and exceed in efforts. Like anyone I still have some questions when it comes to the gospel on my path to following Christ, but I think the point is to constantly be building on your core values because God is so BIG and we are so complex as humans..but the people, learning from eachother and the genuine connections we build when we truly are just looking for a firm foundation and friendship. To me the saints are like Santa’s elves if you want to put it that way, they are happy to serve, they really do make the effort to keep not only their churches/temples/& body’s pure but minds pure as well..I’ve gotten blessings from priesthood holders that I felt God was speaking directly to me, and it was almost as if the missionaries voice sounddd more authoritive in the blessing over me. Thank you to that Elder. It is a couple hours with lots of open discussions and testimony meetings are every 1st Sunday of the month. The people there are welcoming and the missionaries are there to help with any questions. They are so open to visitors and investigators and none of them get paid to take on the responsibilities they have. Those on missions are supported through offerings that people are willing to pay. They never ask for tithing on Sundays or ever. They only ever ask if you pay your tithing, if you follow the word of wisdom, if you remain chaste, etc..during interviews to go to the temple because they do baptisms for the dead-those who did not ever get the chance to recieve the Holy Spirit in their Life there & that is very sacred to them, you will need to have a clean vessel to honor those people! They are someone’s family ❤️Everything I’ve learned from them “be sure to pay your debts, no sex before marriage, keep your temples holy so that The Holy Spirit can work in you, treat others how you would want to be treated, respect other ways of worship, follow the commandments, read and write, educate and be educated, etc..” has always lead me back to Christ. Past mistakes or simply rumors and agendas against the church?-they’re doing a lot right & I can’t complain ❤️❤️

I was invited by a friend that has been going to this church since she was 8 y/o. They are very nice, friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. It is a church very different from the catholic and Christian church for those looking for a different atmosphere . I enjoyed the baptism, the discussion and might come back again.
