I’m in the middle of my second child at this school. It’s an intimate sweet place, even though it’s part of a big corporate machine. All the ladies here care so much for the kids and that’s what is most important. They are safe and loved. The facility is clean and modern. The toys are plentiful. And you can even have lunch ordered to deliver at this location, if you’re fancy!

Our son was enjoying his time at The Academy. Really loved teacher Monica. We were really satisfied. Then upon welcoming his baby brother our son had a very common behavior: he started biting at school. They offer to put a plan together to address this but when they didn’t see results soon enough they asked us to pause the enrollment until he’d show improvement. So at 6 weeks post partum in a Thursday I was told my son couldn’t come back the next day. He couldn’t say goodbye to his teacher and friends. He was already going through lots of change with the arrival of his baby brother, didn’t need another major change in his life.
We found another school patient enough to address and monitor his behavior improvement. He stopped biting soon after.
So the Academy is a good facility until your child doesn’t behave perfectly and then you’ll see they don’t have the resource and the will to patiently address the issue. What upset me the most is that they put our family in the difficult situation of finding another daycare on the spot while we were going through major life updates. That didn’t feel right.
Just want to flag that it is now illegal in the State of California for public pre school to expel children…good thing The Academy is private. Oh sorry they didn’t expel our son, they « paused the enrollment until he shows improvement ».

My daughter attended the Academy at Venice for 2 years starting in August 2020. The center was super clean and all teachers, parents and kids were following the health protocol. We loved the various art and steam projects that kids were doing during the day as well as gymnastics and yoga classes. Teachers and staff are very responsive and ready to talk to you about your kid. We also were getting daily reports with our daughter’s pictures and activities she participated it. Our daughter has built great friendships during her time at the center.
I would highly recommend the Academy at Venice for everyone who’s seeking daytime care for their kiddos.

Cannot speak highly enough of this school. They are very well-organized, have an app that gives you plenty of updates/pictures of how your child is doing throughout the day, and have teachers who truly bond with your child. It was my daughter's first preschool experience and she's grown so much socially and intellectually that can only be attributed to this school of educators.

This is such a special school. My son absolutely loves The Academy. The director, admin and teachers are friendly and experienced. The school is cute and clean. Most importantly, my son is happy and has learned a lot. I couldn’t recommend The Academy enough!
