Very professional and knowledgeable. I wasn't upsold anything I didn't need or want. I was made comfortable and everything was explained to me. I was also contacted with updates regarding my process with the county. I was expecting two weeks before I received my death certificates and it was only days. The staff was very courteous and professional. I was referred by a neighbor and I would refer others requiring their services.

We can’t thank Fry Memorial Chapel enough for their help during such a difficult time. Everyone on the staff was kind, caring, and truly genuine. A special thank you to Candy, who went above and beyond to make sure our family felt supported and taken care of throughout the process. Her compassion and kindness meant so much to us. We’re very grateful for everything they did.

While it's been a tough 6 months, Fry's has made it just a little bit easier. 3 deaths in a short amount of time and you tend to get close to people. This team treated our Family like gold. Matt, Candi and everyone else I came in contact with gave me the utmost respect and care that we could have asked for. Good honest team of professional caring people.

During one of the most difficult times in our lives, the team at the funeral home provided exceptional care, compassion, and support from beginning to end. From our very first meeting through the services and even afterward, they continued to check in on our family and offer assistance whenever needed.
They treated us as people, not as a business transaction. Every staff member was welcoming, understanding, compassionate, and genuinely caring. They took the time to listen, answer our questions, and provide a wealth of information and guidance both during the planning process and after the services.
Communication was excellent throughout, and we always felt informed, respected, and supported. At no point did we feel pressured, overcharged, or misled. Their professionalism and transparency gave us peace of mind during an emotional and overwhelming time.
One feature we especially appreciated was the livestreaming of the services. It allowed family and friends who lived out of state or were unable to travel due to hardship to still participate and feel connected during this important time. It meant so much to our family to know that everyone had the opportunity to be part of honoring our father-in-law’s life.
One moment that truly stood out was after the services. Wanting to help, I asked for cleaning supplies, but the staff kindly refused and reassured me that everything would be taken care of. They genuinely wanted our family to focus on being together and grieving while they handled the rest with care and dignity.
We are deeply grateful for the kindness, patience, respect, and support shown to our family. They helped make a heartbreaking experience a little easier and left us feeling cared for long after the services ended.
I would highly, highly recommend them to anyone facing the loss of a loved one. Their compassion, attention to detail, and genuine care exceeded all expectations.
Frequently Asked Questions About Fry Memorial Chapel
What is the purpose of embalming?
Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body. Embalming makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, allowing family members time to arrange and participate in the type of service most comforting to them.
Does a dead body have to be embalmed, according to law?
The Federal Trade Commission says, "Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial."
Why are funerals so expensive?
When compared to other major life events like births and weddings, funerals are not expensive. A wedding costs at least three times as much; but because it is a happy event, wedding costs are rarely criticized. A funeral home is a 24-hour, labor-intensive business, with extensive facilities (viewing rooms, chapels, limousines, hearses, etc.), these expenses must be factored into the cost of a funeral.
Additionally, the cost of a funeral includes not only merchandise, like caskets, but the services of a funeral director in making arrangements; filing appropriate forms; dealing with doctors, ministers, florists, newspapers and others; and seeing to all the necessary details.
Do I have to make different funeral arrangements if I choose cremation?
It really depends entirely on how you wish to commemorate a life. One of the advantages of cremation is that it provides you with increased flexibility when you make your funeral and cemetery arrangements. You might, for example, choose to have a funeral service before the cremation; a memorial service at the time of cremation or after the cremation with the urn present; or a committal service at the final disposition of cremated remains. Funeral or memorial services can be held in a place of worship, a funeral home or in a crematory chapel.
What can be done with the cremated remains?
With cremation, your options are numerous. The cremains can be interred in a cemetery plot, i.e., earth burial, retained by a family member, usually in an urn, scattered on private property, or at a place that was significant to the deceased. (It would always be advisable to check for local regulations regarding scattering in a public place-your funeral director can help you with this.)
Today, there are many different types of memorial options from which to choose. Memorialization is a time-honored tradition that has been practiced for centuries. A memorial serves as a tribute to a life lived and provides a focal point for remembrance, as well as a record for future generations. The type of memorial you choose is a personal decision.
