I cannot believe that a school this expensive treat students so irresponsibly. The school accepted us as a back up care family, which means we only attend this school for 3 days during the break. When my 3 year old child arrived in the morning, obviously crying as she arrived at a brand new environment, there was no proactive gesture to care for her at all. No teacher approached her or offered to hold her or comfort her. Upon my explicit request, one teacher came over and reluctantly padded her, without holding her with open arms, until I lifted her and held her and handed over to the teacher. I brought lunch from home and the teacher asked me to leave on the table. I asked in surprise whether they planned to put the food in fridge. She said “oh you prefer that? Ok I will do it later; just leave it there”. How soon is later?? Wouldn’t food go bad? I ended up putting the food in the fridge myself.
At the end of the day, I realized my child did eat her lunch, but the teacher greeted me saying “she had a great day just didn’t eat much for lunch”. I didn’t pay much attention because sometimes she may eat less. The teacher specifically told me that they won’t allow us to use fridge tomorrow and asked me to bring ice packs with lunch box tomorrow. Fine.
The second day morning - same story about not receiving my child with care, although one of the staff stepped in and helped out. At pick up, my child didn’t eat lunch again, and told us that “the food was cold”. I realized that two days in a row they did not heat up food for my child, and did not tell me that heating up is also not allowed, and did not call me about any of this. All instruction I have received was to bring in ice packs - why would I bring in frozen food if there is no heating up available?! Even if no microwave is a typical policy, isn’t it educator’s common sense to find a way to accommodate a hungry child especially because they are only here for 2-3 days?! Even if they called me and told me to come back and heat up food for her, I would have appreciated it more than just letting my child starve. When I challenged the assistant director and asked whether all their children have cold lunches, she said their regular students have hot lunches, only back up care children have cold lunches, or they can bring up warm food in the morning and let it sit there until lunch. Again, wouldn’t good to bad? Wouldn’t the food get cold again??
This whole experience, although only 2 days, has been terrible and astonishing. The neglect and lack of professionalism of teachers there, unreasonable food policy, and broken communication to share that policy… I am beyond furious that an education institution that charged at the top range of tuition treated students so poorly. As an educator myself, I am just heart broken, disappointed and mad.

My daughter started going to BHSV near the end of last year. Our family loves the center. Before choosing the right place for us, we have toured multiple BH centers and picked this one. We had our hesitations before sending her here. But it turned out to be great! The center is well organized and filled with love. Teachers’ work are cherished and I heard words about how teachers felt belonging there. The teachers are caring and supporting. What I found inspiring is, we as parents tend to be overstressed by our kid’s emotion or behavior. But the truth is, learning to express in words and manage frustrations/conflicts take time. In fact, to civilize our mini-human isn’t easy. I appreciate that the teachers try to inform me daily how my daughter was doing or if there’s anything we can do consistently at home. I also love that the teachers read so many books, set up playing sets based on the recent topics/interest of kids, and sing songs to teach vocabularies.

Our son enrolled in the toddler program at silicon valley when he just turned one years old, he is very happy and grows a lot for the past few months. The teacher ratio is pretty good (1:4) and there is always other helper in the classroom. It has very good routine, 2 hours naps, morning and afternoon outdoor times. There are various activities, like drawing, singing, playing balance board, or even play with water when the weather is hot. The teachers helped the kids to learn things and grow skills which may add extra work for them.

Worst day care ever. My son joined the 2years classroom, and he was hit on head by the biggest students in the class since day one. We trained him to be able to describe what happened in the school. He told us all accident and classroom violation. We reported to the teacher in the 5th days, the teacher told us they are just play and hit on head for each other. Nothing seriously.
We didn't pay attention until my husband observed a violation happened in the classroom cause by the biggest student in the class. He was taller than all other kids, the teacher was clean table facing the accident. The student push other boy to the floor without any reason and kick on his tummy, the kid been pushed and kicked was crying crazy, but no one stop it at that moment. My husbands was shock and cannot say a world. Then the kid been kicked went to another corner to laid down and rest, but the big one follow him again and step on him. At this moment, there is another teacher enter the room, she stop it and ask the 1st teacher to pay more attention to the big one. I noticed that that day, no accidental report was given for the kid been kicked on the floor. Then we start to seriously complain what my son my received from the big kid. After that, my son told me, he was not hit on the head for the following days. But the was bit twice by other kids. He also observed the big one push other kids to the wall. He got scratch on his face couple times, bit with mark on his arm and hand. He was also hit by the classroom mirror and his eye was covered and surround with red due to squeezed by the biggest kid.
In 3 weeks stay, my son received more than 15 accident reports. He was scared and crying crazy complain his bad experience in the night time. He had bad dream for couple days. We try to talk to the direct and the violation special, but didn't go well. They try not to accept the fact even my husband observed all of them. Even my son has red around his eye. They told me they don't give any time out to the issue kids, they also try to make the fake fact that my son also naughty. In stead to talking how to solve this issue, they ask me to think if my son is the trouble making person, am I accept my son been time out? They cannot solve the problem at all. The only thing they offer me is to terminate and refund me immediately.
My son was scared in the classroom, we decide to take him out immediately, and we put him in a temp daycare for 1 month and waiting for a new one close to our house. He is happy and didn't receive any hurt/accident in the other two new day cares. He feel happy and always told us, there is no trouble kids in the new classroom, he love the new daycare. He don't want to go back to the 1st one.
I didn't write any review on March when we move out of the day care, cause I am not sure it is due to my son is too naughty or it is due to the day care issue. Now we have move to new daycare for almost 3 months. No accident, my son is very happy and enjoy the day care a lot. I am pretty confident this day care itself need to be improved.
