Our 4 month old son attended Sorrento Valley KinderCare for 3 days and we can not recommend it. At pick up on the third day the infant room was very chaotic. And despite being marked asleep on his back I found my 4 month old asleep on his stomach. When I asked if he rolled, staff told me no, that they always put them to sleep on their stomach. This is not safe sleep for an infant and was not consistent with interviews prior to enrolling our son. Upon wake up he had a respiratory incident and I had to call 911. The pediatrician said this was an aspiration incident following unsafe sleep practices. Luckily our son was okay but this could have been a very different situation.
Before the respiratory incident my son was sleeping on his stomach on a wet crib sheet, in wet clothes, he was cold and he had been in a dirty diaper so long it stuck to him.
I reported this to the director because I was concerned with the lack of cameras and managerial oversight that staff were overwhelmed and practicing unsafe sleep. Hopefully the necessary changes were made to create a safe environment for their infants.
Absolutely love Sorrento Valley KinderCare! Both of my boys (2yo in Discovery Preschool 1 with Ms. Frankie & Ms. Brianna, and 4yo in Preschool 2 with Ms. Haleh & Ms. Simin/Ms. Julia) are thriving here.
The teachers are so warm, caring, and dedicated — they shower the kids with love, and our boys love going to school every day. The staff, including Ms. Ursula, Ms. Alyssa, and Ms. Tatina, are also very responsible and manage/organize everything extremely well.
They do fantastic learning activities about plants, animals, seasons, and more. Ms. Heather’s enrichment classes (cooking, music, phonics, math) are always a favorite!
Summer activities like Water Day and Petting Zoo are super fun. Flexible hours from 7am to 6pm with minimal holidays make life easy for dual-working families. The daily photos and videos in the app are the best part — we cherish seeing their daily moments.
We’re so happy with our kids’ growth and progress. Strongly recommend this center!

I had an incredibly positive experience with Sorrento Valley KinderCare from an administrative perspective and for welcoming my son only for a temporary time angle as well. I had multiple follow ups with multiple employees at the facility, and they were all very generous with their time and noticeably cared for of me and my family the second I called. Generally, when you enroll in a daycare, you're thinking of longevity and the teachers invest in the development of the children. Regardless of whether your child is coming for a few days or a few years, all the teachers at Sorrento Valley, give their entire hearts and souls day and day out. I cannot say enough, good things about this entire facility and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you provided for myself and my family during a time of my husband's deployment and my concurrent work trip in the San Diego area. It truly takes a village and hope if you're looking for a childcare for your children, you find that that village is here!

Our son London has thrived here — the teachers are caring, patient, and truly invested in his development. Every day he’s excited to go, and we can tell how much he’s learning and growing from the activities and structure they provide. Communication is great, and we always feel confident knowing he’s in a safe, nurturing, and happy environment. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make the kids (and parents!) feel supported. Highly recommend to any family looking for a loving place for their little one!
