  We needed to find care for our very sharp 94 year old Mom who had been living on her own until a point of health issues that caused her to feel uneasy in her home all day, each day. None of us “kids” lived near by. Over the years, I had looked into assisted living and private care facilities and had a feel for what to look for in an agency. In this process, I had also spoke to a number of agencies. TheKey came highly recommended to our family and with that connection we started the process of meetings. Savahanna was our contact who came to our home to meet us and gain an overview of what my Mom’s needs might be. She was thorough, professional, compassionate and nice. Daisy was our in home care coordinator and communicated extremely well with us about the caregivers who would be assigned to our Mom. She seems to know what type of person would work well with our Mom and also very easy to talk to with great communication skills and kind. My Mom had two different caregivers, one 3 days and the other, 2, each for half days. The ladies that were sent were kind, considerate and great company for our Mom, and they also helped with light tasks each day. We all felt better that our Mom was well cared for. I feel the staff at TheKey have qualities you cannot be taught, and that is kindness. This is particularly important for Seniors and their families. It’s wonderful to do a job well, but that personal touch goes a long way.

  When my mother became suddenly ill, and suffered a serious fall, we didn’t know where to turn for home health resources. We asked our trusted family doctor, and he immediately referred us to Deanne Belcher and The Key. Within minutes of my call, Deanne was able to join us at the hospital. Her experience as an RN was fully evident as she quickly grasped the many aspects of my mother’s very complicated medical conditions. She was also great with logistics. She knew what resources, both in terms of personnel and supplies, we would need to make home care possible and safe. She even visited our house to make sure plans fit our family’s needs perfectly. Deanne was also kind, compassionate, and understanding as my mother’s illness took unexpected twists and turns. She gently helped us through difficult conversations. I was so appreciative to have her support when making tough decisions. I knew I could trust Deanne in the hardest of times. Sadly, my mother passed away in the hospital before we were able to bring her back home. If I ever need care for another relative or friend, I know I will not hesitate to contact Deanne and The Key.   Our family has had a fantastic experience with TheKey. My wife and I have had two consistent caregivers over the past year who have become like a part of the family. They are attentive and engaging, they help coach me through my physical therapy exercises, help us grocery shop and engage my wife with Alzheimer’s in conversations about her passions. They are happy to help with anything we need and they seem to genuinely care about us and our family. When they are out for planned vacations or unplanned sicknesses, the fill-in staff are always just as helpful and friendly. Our family loves the brief informational sheets we are provided about each new caregiver that includes a picture, their background and some fun facts so that we can have an idea of what to expect. The case managers communicate quickly and efficiently to manage staffing changes and do frequent home visits to check in and make sure that everyone is safe and happy. We are so appreciative of the outstanding care we are receiving from TheKey.

  Akina Magpayo is the BEST Care Manager at Thekey, she’s attentive to client needs and always find ways to provides excellent service . She’s professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Akina is a great person to work with!!
