  Ken McKenzie and his staff are wonderful. They are sensitive, competent and knowledgeable about the process and in touch with the feelings of grief. We decided to spread my mother’s ashes out of state instead of using what she had initially purchased and so we were refunded. They also helped me in the permit for a sea burial out of state.

  There is nothing worse in the life than needing mortuary and funeral services for loved ones. I have had the unfortunate experience to have needed those services many times. I guess that is the downside of a big wonderful family. I have had multiple experiences at three local places and two in other parts of CA. McKenzie Mortuary is absolutely the place I will use from now on. I had been to a service here a couple years ago. It was simple and beautiful. My Chosen family lost our matriarch. Those planning her service had nothing but wonderful things to say and being there for the service only proved that. Then I unexpectedly needed these services for my brother. Bridget was everything my chosen family had said. She was compassionate, knowledgeable, and always available! And let me tell you there are always questions to be asked. Erica, who manages the office, was so easy to work with, compassionate, and extremely efficient. They both took such good care of us. Then on our service day, we were blessed with Bonnie who helped us through our service and took wonderful care of our guests! Then there was Shannon who is their after care person. She is there for anything you may need help or support with after the services are done and everyone goes back to regular life. McKenzie Mortuary knows exactly who we need at each step. I can't express how unbelievably fortunate I felt to be in their care especially during this time in my life. McKenzie Mortuary's prices were extremely reasonable especially knowing the prices for two other mortuary/cemeteries in the Long Beach/West Orange County area and one in Culver City. They don't hide anything, everything you need to know is available as soon as you inquire. Their website also was helpful and easy to use. They have a lot of options and you didn't pay for a bunch of things you don't need. But the thing that will stay with you is how much the people at McKenzie Mortuary care. Makes you wish they would open other businesses, like medical and dental offices, because the living need what this mortuary provides daily... compassion and support.

  The staff at McKenzie Mortuary was very helpful when my mother passed away on June. They were very respectful of our family’s wishes from the time they picked her up to the time she was cremated. A very good choice if you are considering options for a loved one in need of services such as these.
