My son has been going to Ladera Ranch KinderCare for more than a year now starting in the twos groups and now in the threes groups with Ms. Masa. Prior to starting at KinderCare he was with a nanny at home, but since he has started attending he has developed so much socially! He alternates going to KinderCare and preschool the other days - he is one of the few kids that does not cry when being dropped off for preschool. Michelle the director is awesome and very involved on making sure that everything is running smoothly and that kids are comfortable and well attended to throughout their day. The teachers provide regular photo updates throughout the day so parents can stay current on the various activities that your child is doing.

I’m so grateful for the care my son has received at KinderCare. The team has been welcoming and flexible with our family from the start. As a single mom working full time and raising two boys, their kindness and empathy have meant the world to me. Miss Marissa and Ms. Masa have been wonderful with my son, including during times when he was struggling. They’ve shown him so much patience and care. Michelle Montoya, the site director, is responsive, organized, and genuinely invested in the children and families here. The entire staff is professional, polite, and involved, but what stands out most is how kind they are. It means so much to know my son is surrounded by people who care about him. I’m truly thankful for this team!

We have had such a wonderful experience with KinderCare. The staff has been incredibly accepting, patient, kind, and loving with my children. They truly make them feel cared for and supported and they are always willing to help whenever we need anything.
I especially want to recognize Ms. Michelle (the director) & Ms. Mahsa (their teacher) as she has been so patient, understanding, and caring with my both my children, and it means so much to me knowing they are surrounded by people who genuinely care about them. I’m very grateful for the entire KinderCare team and would absolutely recommend them to other families!!
We've trusted the teachers at KinderCare Ladera Ranch with all three of our kids, and every one of them has been loved, known, and looked after like family. Drop-offs are easy because our kids actually want to go. The staff are patient and warm, and they clearly care far beyond what the job asks of them. Childcare isn't getting any easier or cheaper for anyone, providers included, and this team keeps showing up with kindness anyway. We're grateful. If you're on the fence, go meet them.

We enrolled our two daughters, ages 16 months and 2 years old, at KinderCare in Ladera Ranch during the last week of July 2026 after their previous daycare unexpectedly closed. We had been extremely happy with their previous care, so we understood that transitioning to a new center could take some adjustment. Unfortunately, our experience at KinderCare was very different from what we expected, and we ultimately unenrolled our daughters after only one week.
The biggest concern was an incident involving my 16-month-old daughter being bitten on her leg on her third day. No one notified me when it happened, and I was not told anything at pickup. I discovered the bite myself around 5 PM when I was taking her out of her car seat and saw clear teeth marks on her leg. I had to bring it up with the assistant director the following morning, and she was unaware of the incident and had to look into what happened.
I was later told that the incident reportedly occurred around 9 AM, when the 1-year-old classes were together in one room before separating. I understand that toddlers can bite and that accidents happen. My concern was not simply that my daughter was bitten — it was that I was not informed about an injury involving my child and had to discover it myself.
The daily drop-offs were also very difficult. Since it was their first week, I expected some extra support and reassurance from the teachers as my daughters adjusted. Instead, I often felt like no one was taking the initiative to comfort or engage with them when they were upset. I ended up having to peel both children off of me myself and leave while they were crying. At pickup, I repeatedly found my 16-month-old crying without anyone actively trying to comfort her. She also did not nap at all during the entire week.
The following week, we enrolled our girls at Goddard School in Ladera Ranch, and the difference was immediate. From the very first day, my younger daughter took a two-hour nap. I have not once picked my girls up crying. My older daughter actually wants to stay and continue playing with her friends. The contrast made it very clear to us that our children were capable of adjusting to a new environment — they simply needed the right environment and support.
When I informed the KinderCare director that we were unenrolling, I was given a lecture about the importance of stability and allowing children time to adjust. I was also told that it was the summer session, that some of the regular teachers were on vacation, and that there were more children enrolled during the summer.
What I felt was missing from that conversation was an acknowledgment of our actual concerns.
I am not a first-time parent. My husband has been in the military for 14 years, and our family has experienced numerous transitions between daycares and schools. We understand that children need time to adjust, and we know the difference between normal transition difficulties and a situation that doesn’t feel right for our children. As a Director of Nursing myself, I also strongly believe that the quality and safety of care should not suffer because staffing is different during the summer.
I’m writing this review because I know KinderCare has many positive reviews, and I’m genuinely glad that other families have had good experiences there. Our experience was simply very different.
If you’re a parent who has a gut feeling that something isn’t right, I want you to know that you’re not alone. You know your children. It is completely reasonable to ask questions, expect communication about injuries or incidents, and expect your children to be comforted and cared for when they are struggling.
For our family, leaving was absolutely the right decision.
