I was really looking forward to enrolling my son here and had high hopes based on the reviews. As a first-time daycare mom, I expected the transition to be emotional and it was. Naturally, my son began crying and calling for me when I tried to leave. What was disappointing was the response from the teachers. I understand that classrooms can be busy and there is a lot going on, but they knew a new child was starting that day and should have approached the situation with more gentleness and patience. Instead of comforting him or helping him feel safe in a brand-new environment, they seemed overwhelmed, huffing, shushing, and loudly directing the other children away from the door, which only startled him more. In that moment, I didn’t feel reassured that he was in a calm or nurturing environment. Additionally, I had completed all required paperwork in advance and informed them of our start date. However, when I arrived, staff seemed unaware of my son’s information and dietary restrictions. I was asked basic questions that should have already been documented. For a facility with strong reviews and above-average pricing, I expected better organization and preparation. Ultimately, the environment did not feel warm or comforting, and I’m grateful I was able to witness this firsthand before fully committing. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

It’s time for an updated review. I have two sets of twins (10 & 8) and a 2-year-old who have attended this daycare for about five+ years. Overall, we have had positive experiences despite frequent staff turnover. I want to recognize Ms. Leen for her quick response during a medical emergency involving my youngest child, who experienced a febrile seizure. She acted immediately, administered CPR, and contacted me, which helped ensure my child’s safety. The owners also handled the situation appropriately and met with me the next day, which I appreciated. While I love Children’s Lighthouse, I do have concerns about one staff member. On multiple occasions, she has repeated or misrepresented conversations to other staff, creating unnecessary issues. Ms. Alex. The first incident was her twisting my words to make it seem I show favoritism to my youngest child. She ran her mouth to other staff who knows I love all of my kids equally. One of the teachers informed me and told me to watch what I say in front of her. Recently I was talking to a teacher about something and Alex again ran her mouth to a staff member who was not included in the conversation which created unnecessary conflict. Her behavior is alarming and it’s to the point I get triggered every time I see her. Ms. Alex has a toddler who attends the daycare as well. Her child often shows up to the daycare with fever blisters or some type of outbreaks on or around her mouth. I noticed Ms. Alex will just put a bandaid over it. I feel it’s unsanitary. The small children are known to put toys in their mouth and infections can spread quickly especially in small children whose immune systems are not as strong. I’ve decided to no longer follow the chain of command and will voice any concerns I have directly with the owners from now on in hopes they will be open to what I have to say.

My experience at Children's Lighthouse-Imperial was amazing. My 3 year old truly enjoyed being in Ms. Eliza and Chinelo's class. They are very sweet to the children.

This center(daycare) is a place to be if you are looking for a daycare/afterschool program for your children. From the director, the administrators, as well as to the classroom teachers, they are all amazing. They treat us like family.
