AIM Adoptions has been an amazing organization to work with. When my husband and I were looking to begin the adoption process we knew that we wanted to work with an agency who cared deeply for their birth moms, babies, and adoptive families. AIM did just that! The entire process from start to finish was full of prayer, intentionality, and care. We have seen first hand how they have loved and cared for us, our baby girl, and her birth family. We could not recommend them enough! Denise, Lori, and the rest of the staff at AIM are incredible!

AIM Adoptions is an excellent organization that makes the adoption process a breeze. They are easy to work with, very responsive to questions that arise, and help navigate the difficult process of adoption. I strongly recommend AIM if you are looking to adopt.

After interviewing with several adoption agencies in Houston and Austin, my husband and I found AIM. From the first meeting there we felt completely comfortable. Denise at AIM explained everything thoroughly about how Texas adoptions work, open adoption versus closed adoptions, birth mother process, adoptive parents process and just every single thing there is to know about the Texas adoption process.
Denise promised to make the adoption process as smooth as possible and it definitely was.
We adopted our newborn son almost 3 years ago and everyday we are so grateful.
I recommend AIM to anyone wanting a perfect adoption experience.

Please understand how hard this is for me to go public! I have FAMILY members that do not know about me placing my baby for adoption and it was almost 19 years ago! That is how important it is for me to clear up AIM's name!
To start off with I am so sorry for what you went thru. I had a baby boy in December 1992. I lived in a HUD apartment with a 4 year old daughter living on Welfare and could not imagine bringing another child into that environment. I was going back to school and trying to better my life. I could give him love but not the life that a family that was looking to adopt could give him. I was treated amazing from the first day I walked into AIM in June, 1992 until TODAY! They welcomed me with open arms and loving hearts! The lady that was my case worker is to this day a part of my life and my family's lives. I love Jeannine! She opened her heart to me and my kids - they think of her as a Grandma. Jan and Denise - all of the staff are always there no matter what. As Kate said they are there from start to forever so far for me!! Not only are they there when you are going thru your adoption but we have monthly counseling sessions, a YEARLY Christmas party. There is not a doubt in my mind if I needed anyone of them they would be there for me! I would also like to add that when I first was approached about placing my baby for adoption - by a girl that lived in the HUD apartment I was living in she told me to go to AIM because they will pay your rent and all of your bills (this was in 1992 - I don't know if they still do that) and then at the end you can change your mind and keep your baby and there was nothing they could do! Win / Win - they pay for everything and you get to keep your baby!!! So think about it - that is what the agency also has to deal with and the adopted parents. The hope of FINALLY getting a baby just to have their hearts ripped out time and time again. I admit that I got the best adoptive parents ever for my baby but I know that there are some other pretty great ones out there! So again - I am so sorry for what you went thru but please do not keep someone else from making the hardest decision they will ever make in their lifetime but the best one. I can tell you that if you have an abortion instead you will regret that decision for the rest of your life but if you place your baby for adoption you will one day be very proud of your decision. PLEASE do not base any decision on this one person's bad experience with a case that was taken over by AIM not that started with AIM. Trust me people will take time to complain every day about everything but how many people take time out of their lives to spend time to say something about that is a good thing and a positive experience. You also have to remember that there are so many stages of grief and you simply must find help to make it thru each of these steps. I would and do recommend AIM to anyone and everyone that I can get the word out to! With all that said everyone has the right to their own opinions but please do not base AIM on a few people that feel ill will towards them. Please take the time to make your own well informed decision!! If AIM only cared about the pregnant girls and women can you tell me why they spend the time, money & love giving a Christmas party to EVERYONE EVERY YEAR that has placed with their agency? I mean think about it if what you are saying is true the Christmas party would just be for the currently pregnant girls. Period. Just think about that! Thank you for your time!
Will medical costs be covered for me? For the baby?
Yes. The agency is responsible for those costs, unless the mother has insurance, if there is a completed adoption.
What is open adoption?
Oh, what a question! Truthfully, open adoption and its interpretation may differ from agency to agency, from person to person, from authority to authority.
At AIM, open adoption means any sharing of information between the adoptive parents and the biological parents. There are no state or agency regulations restricting contact between adoptive parents and biological family.
All face-to-face contact after placement is based on the trust and developing relationships between the adoptive parents and biological parents.
Does the birth father have to agree to the adoption?
The agency must make every attempt to contact the birth father and offer counseling about his child’s future and the mother’s plan of adoption.
In most cases, the father cooperates with the agency and allows the mother to proceed with the adoption plan.
In some cases, the parents work together to plan for their child’s future.
In other cases, the father is not cooperative and a legal process must be followed to assure a secure permanent adoption.
The responsibility of handling issues with the birth father lies with the agency and agency staff. AIM employs a male staff person that is usually successful in helping the father feel comfortable enough to understand his options.
Does AIM Adoptions cover medical costs for the mother and baby during adoption?
Yes, the agency is responsible for medical costs unless the mother has insurance and the adoption is completed.
What does open adoption mean at AIM Adoptions?
Open adoption at AIM means sharing information between adoptive and biological parents without restrictions, with contact based on trust and relationships.
Does the birth father need to agree to the adoption?
The agency tries to contact and counsel the birth father. Cooperation varies, and legal processes may be followed if necessary.
