- GMGarrett MylerJul 27, 20255.0After moving to the area about 4 months before the pandemic, it was initially a challenge to feel like we were part of a church family. In my opinion, other churches in the area seemed to handle it a bit better. I only point this out because I think it adds important context to why this church / congregation ("Valley Ranch Ward") still gets a 5 stars from me. I've visited multiple other Christian churches in the area. One had a live band with music I find more moving. Another had a way more impressive welcome team. And another offered more support for my kids during the pandemic. But I've chosen this church for my family because it is here I have found the Gospel of Jesus Christ taught in its fullness. This is a Christ-centered church that has helped me understand Christ's atonement which empowers me to apply it in my life and develop a genuine relationship with Him and my Heavenly Father. As icing on the cake, I have made great friends here. We've got a great brotherhood in the men's group (aka "Elders Quorum"). My kids enjoy the week-day activities. Plus, the Nerd Fest + Expo community event was a blast (full disclosure: I helped organize it). But if your primarily goal is to learn and live Christ's gospel, check out this church! To the reviewer that is disappointed about the lack of signage with meeting times; I completely agree. Maybe we'll eventually modernize and get better signage. But, in the meantime, it's well worth the effort of looking it up on the website (google: "Church of Jesus Christ, find a church near you").
