Highly recommend using them for future services. They made the process for my father who was in a nursing home seemless so he could have his affairs and wishes pre-planned/purchased. After his passing they made the process simple for family to ensure his wishes were carried out while providing sympathy and compassion.

the loss of my Love mary seward (nov.20.2025)was bad enough. the funeral service by joe slovak was good until the unexpected occurred. thanks to parties involved and desiree, funeral manager, the funeral service was horribly disrupted.
On the day of disruption of my mary's memorial,(dec.2,2025) mary's sisters had given 2weeks prior authorization for my mary's cremation to rest haven, but were allowed to reverse decision mid service.to this day, april 7, 2026 we have not received mary's cremation remains. WHO has ever had this happen to their loved ones last wishes???Unheard of.
i was lied to and disrespected. my mary's body was desecrated. nothing will change that. because of this snafu, my mary's estate is still in probate. the funeral industry needs to be held accountable.

Lada is truly an earth angel. She radiates love, care, and deep respect for both the departed and their families. Words can’t fully express how grateful I am for the support she gave my family while we said goodbye to our grandparents.
The dignified and beautiful service she provided for my grandfather brought us so much comfort. When my grandmother passed unexpectedly soon after, it meant everything to know she had been at peace with the way her husband was honored.
Lada’s presence brought warmth and calm during one of the hardest times in our lives. She has an incredible gift, and it’s clear she’s deeply passionate about what she does. I will always be thankful for her compassion and the care she showed our family.

My experience at Rest Haven when my husband passed was excellent. Every question answered, every step explained, everything was handled with love, compassion, and professionalism. Even my family from out of state were very impressed. Thank you, Lada, for helping us get through an extremely difficult time with such caring professionalism.

We held my father‑in‑law’s services here because he had prepaid with this funeral home. Despite that, we received a past‑due bill for $7,100 simply because they needed a copy of the death certificate to access the prepaid funds. Instead of calling us to request the document, they sent a bill. The need was never expressed when we were discussing arrangements during his burial. We would have happily given them a copy if they told us it was needed.
This was extremely upsetting for our family during an already difficult time. The lack of communication and care was disappointing, especially from a company in this industry that should understand the sensitivity of these situations.
We are still waiting on the refund for our overpayment. Imagine our shock when we opened what we thought would be a refund check and instead found a past‑due notice for money we do not owe.
The local funeral home blamed corporate, which means this issue could happen at any of their locations. Very poor customer service and a deeply frustrating experience.

Bring the following information to complete the State vital statistic requirements:
✓ Birthplace
✓ Father's Name
✓ Mother's Name
✓ Social Security Number
✓ Veteran's Discharge or Claim Number
✓ Education
✓ Marital Status
Contact your clergy. Decide on time and place of funeral or memorial service. This can be done at the funeral home.
The funeral home will assist you in determining the number of copies of the death certificates you will be needing and can order them for you.
Make a list of immediate family, close friends and employer or business colleagues. Notify each by phone.
Decide on appropriate memorial to which gifts may be made (church, hospice, library, charity or school).
Gather obituary information you want to include such as age, place of birth, cause of death, occupation, college degrees, memberships held, military service , outstanding work, list of survivors in immediate family. Include time and place of services. The funeral home will normally write article and submit to newspapers (newspaper will accept picture and they will be returned intact).
Arrange for members of family or close friends to take turns answering door or phone, keeping careful record of calls. If Social Security checks are automatic deposit, notify the bank of the death.
When I call, will someone come right away?
If you request immediate assistance, yes. If the family wishes to spend a short time with the deceased to say good-bye, that’s perfectly acceptable. Your funeral director will come when your time is right.
Should I choose Burial or Cremation?
Burial in a casket is the most common method of disposing of remains in the United States, although entombment also occurs. Cremation is increasingly selected because it can be less expensive and allows for the memorial service to be held at a more convenient time in the future when relatives and friends can come together.
A funeral service followed by cremation need not be any different from a funeral service followed by a burial. Usually, cremated remains are placed in urn before being committed to a final resting place. The urn may be buried, placed in an indoor or outdoor mausoleum or columbarium, or interred in a special urn garden that many cemeteries provide for cremated remains. The remains may also be scattered, according to state law.
What is the purpose of embalming?
Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body. Embalming makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, allowing family members time to arrange and participate in the type of service most comforting to them.
