I cannot thank Rest Haven enough for their tender care, professionalism, and the absolutely wonderful care we received for my father’s funeral. Devon was so kind and helpful on the phone and in person. She helped guide me through such a grief filled life event. Our funeral director Joseph guided us through the whole process. He really cared and listened to our needs and made a difficult process less stressful for the family. This freed us to just arrive and be guided along the memorial process. Everything was so smooth and wonderful. My father looked wonderful at the viewing, which was the memory I needed after a rough time in his last days. Joseph was attentive, and caring as he honorably guided us through my father’s burial at The National Veterans Memorial Cemetery. I am very thankful we chose Rest Haven and had such a peaceful, gentle, stress free funeral for my father which left us to do the one thing we needed to do, honor and memorialize my father with a funeral that celebrated the wonderful man my father was in life.

Meegan, Tracy and Katie were wonderful helping us coordinate a memorial service. It was our first time doing so, so they walked us through the process and were with us each step of the way. They also thought of things we hadn’t so we are grateful for their insight as well. They offered us choices to be the intended service - it felt very customized to me and I appreciated that. We are grateful for their kindness and expertise.

During one of the hardest times our family has ever faced, Rest Haven funeral home was truly exceptional. From the very beginning, we were met with compassion, patience, and genuine care.
Desi, our funeral director, was absolutely wonderful. She guided us through every step of planning my grandmother’s service with kindness, making an overwhelming process feel manageable and supported. Nothing felt rushed, and every detail was handled thoughtfully and professionally.
Because of her care and attention, my grandmother’s service was beautifully organized and truly honored her life. I will always be grateful for the comfort and support she provided during such a difficult time.
I cannot recommend this funeral home highly enough to families who need guidance, compassion, and professionalism when it matters most.

I cannot thank Joseph Slovak enough for all the time, support, and preparations in making Mark’s service beautiful. It was so very special to us and we were so happy with everything. I appreciate your promptness in getting back to me quickly whenever I had a question or letting you know my needs. Everyone commented how beautiful everything was including the cemetery grounds. Thank you especially for going the extra step in finding the deacon for our service. He was just so wonderful and gave such a great homily that honored Mark. When I stopped by yesterday to pick up all the belongings and flowers, I stopped by the gravesite and the flowers on the grave were just such a nice touch and I am glad you suggested it. So appreciative of everything you and the staff did. Also, thank you to Liz Cuevas for your time and assistance in finding the perfect area for Mark’s final resting place. We were in such good hands!

When I call, will someone come right away?
If you request immediate assistance, yes. If the family wishes to spend a short time with the deceased to say good-bye, that’s perfectly acceptable. Your funeral director will come when your time is right.
Should I choose Burial or Cremation?
Burial in a casket is the most common method of disposing of remains in the United States, although entombment also occurs. Cremation is increasingly selected because it can be less expensive and allows for the memorial service to be held at a more convenient time in the future when relatives and friends can come together.
A funeral service followed by cremation need not be any different from a funeral service followed by a burial. Usually, cremated remains are placed in urn before being committed to a final resting place. The urn may be buried, placed in an indoor or outdoor mausoleum or columbarium, or interred in a special urn garden that many cemeteries provide for cremated remains. The remains may also be scattered, according to state law.
What is the purpose of embalming?
Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body. Embalming makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, allowing family members time to arrange and participate in the type of service most comforting to them.

Are funeral directors available immediately when called?
Yes, if immediate assistance is requested, the funeral director will come right away; otherwise, they accommodate the family's preferred timing to say good-bye.
Should I choose burial or cremation for funeral services?
Burial is traditional and common, while cremation is often less expensive and allows memorial services at convenient times; cremated remains can be buried, placed in mausoleums, or scattered following state laws.
