Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are considered houses of God, a place of holiness and peace separate from the preoccupations of the world. They provide a place where Church members make formal promises and commitments to God. They are also the place where the highest sacraments of the faith occur — the marriage of couples and the "sealing" of families for eternity. Temples serve as the only place where ceremonies such as baptism and eternal marriage can be performed on behalf of those who have died. Temples point Latter-day Saints to Jesus Christ and their eventual life with Him.
I used to live in the Lubbock Texas temple district but I've never left a review, until now. We passed through on a road trip and stopped for my daughter to do baptisms. While there she ran into some young women she knows from the Roswell stake and was able to have a great conversation with people she already knew.
My wife and I chose to do a sealing session due to having done many endowment sessions here in the past. The sealing was wonderful and we were able to accomplish far more than we had initially imagined we would. We met a wonderful couple who were in Lubbock for school & medical residency. There are always very friendly people in the Lubbock temple and I usually walk away having had a good conversation with someone I've never met before. This experience was no different.
The temple workers were amazing, helpful, and understanding. I'm always impressed with Lubbock and with the simplicity of the temple, yet elegantly placed, symbolism in the Lubbock temple.

Seriously one of the most beautiful buildings in all of North Texas. The peace and symbolism this building provides is second to none. If you’re looking for a sight to see or a fun family thing to do in Lubbock, come walk the grounds here. This building is captivating.
