At Bright Horizons, our Discovery Driven Learning® approach makes early learning an adventure. Visit us to find out how we nurture your child’s natural curiosity, focus on what interests them most, encourage learning through play, and help them get ready for school success.
Bright Horizons child care centers, preschools and schools include a premier early education curriculum and knowledgeable educators and teachers who meet the needs of children at every age and stage. At Bright Horizons, you’ll find infant or toddler care, preschool and pre K programs, kindergarten, elementary schools, and Montessori schools. We also understand the many needs of working parents.
Unfortunately you pay your babysitters to watch just your child more than this company pays its teachers to watch an entire classroom. The teacher turnaround rate through the years really reflects it. I hope these women get the respect and financial compensation they deserve.

High quality and expensive. My work was such that my daughter was one of the youngest babies there. I was very torn initially dropping her off, but the second she started going to daycare she became social, interested in other people, slept at night and was giggling and smiley. You might point out that developmentally maybe she would have done those things at that time anyway, but I know that daycare has made her a better and more well-rounded person than I could do alone.
PROS: Dedicated staff. A clean and well-run facility. Supportive of breastfeeding, supportive of drop-ins any time by parents. Supportive of cloth diapers though I didn’t do that. Staff members that stick around a long time so low turnover. An app for your phone where you can leave updates about the last time the baby ate, slept and was changed. They do the same and you get photos and updates which are sent to your app real-time. A well-thought-out curriculum (at least for infants up to toddlers) e.g. brown bear by Eric Carle for animals and colors. An ocean unit, a camping unit, an itsy bitsy spider unit for Halloween, with lots of photo updates for parents who might sometimes worry they are missing out. As a first time mom I felt like I had an appropriate amount of prodding from the teachers in a good way when it was ok to introduce foods or a cup, or to just put her down for a nap instead of rocking to sleep. They were like parenting coaches on occasion in a non-judgmental way. They hardly ever close for weather and have good hours (630-6pm). I could go on but these are what come to mind. Oh yeah, and they taught my daughter the signs for hungry, more and all done. She was talking to us for months before our sign language speaking neighbor pointed it out.
CONS: Expensive, as in significantly more than our rent. I hope this means the teachers are well compensated because they earn it. I wish every working family had access to quality childcare because having this peace of mind allows me to work knowing that she is not suffering because of my absence. The cost is pretty much the only downside.
