  Thank you to everyone at Rose City who made this difficult time incredibly easy. Prompt service, knowledgeable help, but more importantly, compassionate and all-around good natured and good humored people. We were helped by Jean for my uncles cremation and celebration of life. Rose City didn’t get money from the memorial, but despite that, Jean took time out of her busy schedule to help us find a venue and a caterer, plus cremation jewelry from a different provider. She didn’t have to go that far for us, but we are so thankful she did. Thank you again to everyone we spoke to at Rose City and who helped us through these difficult days.

  Rose City Cemetery is an important part of Black History everyone in Portland needs to know about but most people outside the black community DON’T know about. It’s the final resting place of so many in my family and the families of black people all across Portland. On a more personal note, I recently attended the burial of a family friend here. They did a beautiful job and the Funeral Director was a genuinely sweet woman. I was impressed with the way they did the burials here too. Very thorough, careful and respectful. It was an eye-opening experience, having visited graves here of relatives for years and only now just attending the actual burial for someone at Rose City. I’ll always recommend this place to any families no matter their race or religion or beliefs in general who are looking for compassionate care or just a safe place in Portland to walk and explore an important piece of history.
