This state of the art gym and health class facility offers well maintained, new ish equipment in a clean and well organized space. Instruction, coaching is available for those wishing to learn effective training and movement excercise. While parking can be challenging depending on the time of day, keep looking, you'll find a space.

My children attended the YMCA afterschool program at their school and unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. Over several months, my 6-year-old daughter (kindergarten) was repeatedly singled out and blamed for conflicts involving older children, even in situations where she reported being provoked first and reacting after staff did not intervene. We worked with staff to create a support/behavior plan intended to help her succeed and prevent further issues. However, the plan was not consistently followed by the staff member overseeing the program, which led to continued escalation and ongoing problems rather than improvement. I communicated these concerns multiple times and genuinely tried to work collaboratively so my child could feel supported and safe. Instead of the situation improving, both of my children were ultimately permanently removed from the program after I continued advocating for the agreed-upon supports and fair treatment. I fully understand that programs must maintain structure and safety, but it was disheartening to see a young child labeled as the problem rather than supported through the plan that had already been put in place. I encourage other parents to ask detailed questions about how behavior support plans are implemented and followed, how conflicts between younger and older children are handled, and how staff ensure consistency and fairness for all kids. Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and not unfairly targeted in a childcare setting.

The camera in the Sauna is highly illegal, and no waiver can justify its use. Recording and storing footage for 'safety' violate national cybersecurity laws immediately. You should request the camera be turned off or removed when using the Sauna, as they are legally required to comply. Otherwise, your partly naked, sweaty body risks being uploaded online. Relying on the YMCA for such security is dangerous and unlawful.

I moved here from Portland and was told this YMCA is one of the best gyms in Eugene. In Portland, I paid around $25 per month for a gym that had a large weight room, a good-sized pool, and a sauna. Everything worked consistently whenever the gym was open. No constant closures, no surprises. Here, I’m paying almost twice as much plus a significant membership fee. I expected better quality — but the reality has been the opposite. I mainly joined for the pool and sauna. For several days in a row, I’ve come in and found pool closed for regular members. There are constant classes and activities, and regular members simply can’t use the facilities. That feels very unprofessional. People pay for access, but it seems like priority is given to other programs instead of paying members. It gets worse. One of the pool staff members spoke to me in a very aggressive and threatening tone. I didn’t see the closure sign and stepped into the pool . Instead of calmly explaining the situation, he immediately told me that if I didn’t leave right away, he will kick me out.. I can recommend the weight room — it’s decent, though often crowded. But if you’re planning to join mainly for the pool or sauna, I strongly do not recommend spending your money here.

The new Eugene Family YMCA facility is outstanding. My mom, my daughter, and I all go there, and it’s easily the nicest gym in town. The building is well designed, the equipment is great, and the overall culture there is really positive. One thing I really appreciate is how clean everything is. At other gyms I’ve been to in the past, cleanliness has been an issue, but that’s never the case here. The staff clearly takes pride in maintaining the facility. The fitness classes are excellent. Yoga, spin, Pilates, and strength classes are all top notch, and the instructors do a great job. The pool area, sauna, and hot tub are also really nice and well maintained. The location is another big plus since it connects easily to the Rexius Trail, which makes it easy to combine a workout with time outside. There are a few minor downsides. Because the facility is so good, it can get pretty busy. The men’s locker room feels a little small, and I’d love to see clearer signage around the pool and sauna area reminding people to shower before entering the pool. That’s a small thing, but it would help. Overall, though, the YMCA is doing just about everything right. The pricing feels fair for what you get, and the facility is extremely well run. I just wish there were more YMCAs like this in the surrounding communities. Highly recommended.
