Going through the loss of a loved one is an incredibly challenging time, but the staff at Resthaven is supportive and understanding. We lost my Dad a few months ago and our Funeral Director, Mylei, was incredibly kind and informative. She walked with us through every step of the process, making us feel cared for and supported, and helped to create an honorable and memorable service for my Dad. After his service, Shelby assisted in resolving an ongoing concern very quickly and handled the situation with professionalism, grace, and honesty. She went out of her way to address our concerns immediately and is still actively involved in communicating with our family. Finally, Hugo and his staff have helped care for my Dad’s gravesite in ways that we can’t thank them enough for. The care and attention that has been given to my Dad’s resting place will allow our family an opportunity to visit him and be at peace. Hugo has taken time to personally reach out with updates and provided us with a sense of relief after months of worry. Thank you again - Mylei, Shelby, and Hugo - for your time and assistance, and for treating our family, like your family.

I wish I could’ve had a better experience with Resthaven as so many other reviewers have expressed such. Our “family service counselor” we were assigned has been unsettling and difficult to work with. We had a sudden and tragic death in the family and picked a place at random for the burial. After visiting a different funeral home for headstone shopping, we had the exact opposite experience there. They were so accommodating, kind, and empathetic towards our family. It’s too bad we are stuck at this place that is WAY overpriced, harasses grieving families with phone calls/texts, and worst of all, lacks empathy. Even simple maintenance of the garden that is something we are charged for is lacking. My relatives shouldn’t be asking why the plot is so poorly maintained. All that to say — Please do your research and visit places before a tragedy strikes so you don’t end up stuck in a situation like ours.

Not very welcoming and hard to deal with. They were exceptionally inflexible on matters that called for a bit of grace. The staff was not accommodating and flat out not helpful. I’d recommend going elsewhere.

We cannot speak highly enough about the care and professionalism provided by the cemetery and funeral home staff during such a difficult time. From the very first interaction, their team demonstrated genuine compassion, patience, and respect for our family’s needs.
Every detail was handled with precision and dignity, ensuring that our loved one was honored in the most meaningful way. The staff took the time to guide us through each step of the process, answering questions thoroughly and making sure we felt supported, never rushed or overwhelmed. It was clear that they take great pride in maintaining a place that truly honors those who rest there.
A special thank you to Shelby Jay, the funeral director, and Lynn Nguyen for their exceptional care, kindness, and professionalism. Their support truly made a difference during this difficult time. We cannot recommend them enough.

Resthaven helped me with father's sudden burial about a year and a half ago and they were so lovely and accommodating. I was 21 at the time, so I didn't know really how the funerary process went, but they walked me through it and told me my options and were so nice about all the questions and requests I had. My father was a Shia Muslim and they were incredibly nice and allowed my father to be bathed and wrapped in white dressings by the leaders of our mosque as is customary for our faith. They were also very nice in burying my father. As is traditional in his faith, my father wasn't supposed to be buried in a casket, and Resthaven provided us with a metal covering to go over my dad so that the ground wouldn't settle to heavily after he was laid to rest. My family owns a small collection of plots here, and Resthaven are genuinely the nicest group of funerary directors/funerary related employees I've had the pleasure to work with. They literally are part of the reason I've chosen to go into the funeral business. If you ever need to lay a member of your family to rest, or are pre-planning a funeral, this is the place to do it!

Should I choose Burial or Cremation?
Burial in a casket is the most common method of disposing of remains in the United States, although entombment also occurs. Cremation is increasingly selected because it can be less expensive and allows for the memorial service to be held at a more convenient time in the future when relatives and friends can come together.
A funeral service followed by cremation need not be any different from a funeral service followed by a burial. Usually, cremated remains are placed in urn before being committed to a final resting place. The urn may be buried, placed in an indoor or outdoor mausoleum or columbarium, or interred in a special urn garden that many cemeteries provide for cremated remains. The remains may also be scattered, according to state law.
What is the purpose of embalming?
Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body. Embalming makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, allowing family members time to arrange and participate in the type of service most comforting to them.
Does a dead body have to be embalmed, according to law?
The Federal Trade Commission says, "Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial."
