Resthaven did an outstanding job! Both my husband and I felt there was nothing they could have done better. They handled my husband's Mom with dignity and perfect care. I was worried about how Mom would look in the open casket. But I should not have been concerned, she was beautiful! The pricing is good and worked hard with us to make it work on my MIL's budget. We used the chapel and it was perfect. Jay Arnold was our funeral director and handled everything so perfectly. He is compassionate and fun to deal with. He was open with us about procedures and dealt with all my questions with compassion. My husband and I were so impressed that we are both going to go and prepay for our cremation services.

The staff and facility are both warm and caring. They do everything they can to make the experience as comfortable and friendly as possible. I felt like they went out of their way to help me with everything decision, explaining every detail and item.
I worked with Hillary as a director and Lydia on the grounds side. They both exhibited a warm caring and concern for my wellbeing during difficult times.
I can’t say enough kind words to express my gratitude for their help.
And I certainly want to follow through by doing as much as I can so my loved ones will have as few decisions and financial burden as possible. My family is there and and happy that they were and are being taken great care within Resthaven.

Where do I even big with this place?
My beautiful grandmother passed away on the 10th of this month.
When this happened we weren’t prepared at all for where to take her. We were in such a tough spot mentally and just began calling places. We had spoke with a few other funeral homes and decided to just try 1 more.
The moment we spoke with Mylei (Funeral Director) we had this feeling in our hearts to choose them. And that’s exactly what we did. This was a Saturday. The morgue came and got our grandma and allowed us as long as we wanted with her.
I was the power of attorney and in her will I was who was to make all decisions regarding her passing. I wasn’t even sure where to turn or what I was doing… because my grandma and I had talked about this and I knew she wanted to be cremated and she had mentioned a place she wanted to go… but that place never responded to me or attempted to call after I had requested for them to do so.
Mylei took me in and answered every question, she stood by my brother and I through every single obstacle and guided us through the entire process. She let me be very hands on too… I got to change my grandma into her final outfit and got to do her makeup.
Lisa showed us this beautiful placed called “The Chapel of Roses” and the moment we stepped into the building we knew… THIS is where we were going to put our grandma’s ashes. This is where we were going to memorialize her for the rest of forever. And Lisa did just that… she got us every bit of information, pinned down all the numbers and made sure we were 100% happy with the decision before finalization.
Between Mylei, Lisa and a few others in the funeral home we are eternally grateful. This loss was so hard for my brother and I because our grandma raised us. And they made this as easy and seamless as possible.
I will always and I do mean always recommend this place to handle your loved ones. They were not only professional, they allowed us to feel like family and made something so insanely difficult and made it feel… easy.
Never once did they make our questions seem dumb or made my requests to be so hands on seem weird.
I would give so many more stars than 5 if I could. They treated my grandma’s body like royalty and gave me peace when nothing else could.
The best funeral home in Oklahoma hands down. And that goes to every single one of their employees.

If you request immediate assistance, yes. If the family wishes to spend a short time with the deceased to say good-bye, that’s perfectly acceptable. Your funeral director will come when your time is right.
Should I choose Burial or Cremation?
Burial in a casket is the most common method of disposing of remains in the United States, although entombment also occurs. Cremation is increasingly selected because it can be less expensive and allows for the memorial service to be held at a more convenient time in the future when relatives and friends can come together.
A funeral service followed by cremation need not be any different from a funeral service followed by a burial. Usually, cremated remains are placed in urn before being committed to a final resting place. The urn may be buried, placed in an indoor or outdoor mausoleum or columbarium, or interred in a special urn garden that many cemeteries provide for cremated remains. The remains may also be scattered, according to state law.
What is the purpose of embalming?
Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body. Embalming makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, allowing family members time to arrange and participate in the type of service most comforting to them.
Does a dead body have to be embalmed, according to law?
The Federal Trade Commission says, "Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial."
