If I could give 0 stars I would! My son has been with champions since he started kindergarten last year. He has adhd and the school he was at then really pushed for a true diagnosis stressing how other kids like mine are medicated and it really helps them during the day. I choose not to medicate a child under the age of 10 so adults can cope with him. Be adults. He had some incidents that were described to me as minor snd nothing to worry about. The district took him from the school he was at with the most supports that bragged about being the only school in the district with those supports and after 3 days of calling told me he would receive the exact same supports at the new school. He has not. But what makes matters worse is Kim at the program at his new school has written my son up several times and kicked him out of the program stating he was being disrespectful by telling her no. And that he made “threatening hand gestures” which were simply him balling his fists to his side and stomping his feet. He’s 6. Then she lied saying he could come back after Tara, district manager avoided calling me for months. I refused to send him back as Kim’s threat that he had one more infraction and I WOULD NEED TO PROVIDE AN AID AT MY OWN EXPENSE TO BE IN THE PROGRAM would be needed. My son receives a voucher for his attendance which the company illegally has been collecting since September when he stopped attending. How could I afford an aid? Additionally, if I could get an aid why would he need to be in the program? In addition to that why would it be necessary to pay Champions when the aid would be the only person taking care of my son after school until I get off work? Then, I agree to let my son try again at the program for the first time in months, after contacting the company to verify he is able to attend and signing him up for the winter program. Kim turns my child around and has him sitting in the office after school for over an hour saying he wasn’t in the program but I could log in to his account and clearly see he wasn’t! Mrs Campbell is an amazing woman and her and her amazing daughter sat with my son until I could get there and she didn’t make me feel low due to it. The next week I receive a call from Kim saying why my son can’t be in the program and “it’s for his own good” and that the school should provide an aid for aftercare since he has a 504. Then proceeds to tell me after stating the school he will be at for winter break is actually the old school he was at and they have the biggest staff, that she won’t allow him in the winter program without an aid and he never even got the chance to redeem himself she stated he could have! Tara calls me and says it’s for the betterment of my son. How is it better for him to feel unwanted and rejected due to his condition and both Kim and Tara stated other children with conditions similar to his are welcome in the program? A week before the break I am somehow supposed to find safe and trustworthy child care for my son while this greedy and unorganized company steals money from the county for my child who they refuse to allow in the program? This all started after my sister, without my consent called the school asking what was considered disrespectful when Kim asked me to pick him up early one day due to his behavior and I was in the middle of testing and couldn’t leave. Kim and Tara are terrible sources for this company. Stay away from champions and this site especially!
