VPA has truly been there in time of need for my dear mother. After one visit from Dr. Varner my mother received emergency xrays, friendly nurse care, prompt prescription needs, and routine home visits. Billing has been my only issue, they need an update. The web portal doesn't allow you to pay online, which is very inconvenient for us. Not sure how well their services would be for someone without an advocate/caregiver to assist. So far, so decent.

Husband tried to use and they were very unorganized and uncaring. He had 4 major surgeries (knee replacement, abdominal, major back surgery and leg amputation). He's diabetic, with DMD,asthma and Parkinson. I too am disabled and we have no one else to help.
Never explained when we signed up how they do things. We get a call saying they will be here next day. I called and explained situation. They resescheduled for next day. I had cluster migraine and tried to explain. Needed afternoon. At this point they said they couldn't schedule appointments. I told them we could try to keep appointment.
Next morning Dr. Verner calls at 8:30 and tells me that after 3 cancels we will be kicked out.
When I tried to list complaints was hung up on 2x.
Totally uncaring.

There is much that could be improved upon with this organization. But as I’ve gotten to know and love my doctor and nurses; I get it..they are OVERWHELMED. Period. They are providing US the service to come into our homes and help. Once the kinks are worked out; and YOU advocate for YOUR OWN healthcare, as it IS your responsibility anyway, things run much more smoothly.
Listen to what you’re being told to do to get well, clean your homes, be smart, and don’t make it difficult for your providers to provide!!show up for what’s being gifted to you and be thankful. I think the only major fixing needing done perhaps, is communication between home offices/ patients / outside care sources/ things cannot run smoothly; if no one is paying attention, or is slacking off. I’ve run into every person so far. Fabulous-to-useless. Thankfully, more fabulous.

Dr. Varner from VP has been coming to my home to take care of my Dad for at least 3 years. I love them. They do bloodwork, and full care. Great communication as well. I would recommend them highly if you are a home-bound patient or have a friend/family member that cant leave to get to a doctor's office.
