  We had a fantastic experience at The Sinclair in Port Washington! The recent upgrades to the facilities are immediately noticeable — everything feels refreshed, elevated, and thoughtfully redesigned. The improvements to the dining spaces and common areas create a welcoming, modern atmosphere while still keeping the club’s classic charm. It’s clear that a lot of care and investment has gone into enhancing the overall member experience. The new culinary options are truly impressive. The expanded menu offerings are creative, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. There’s a great balance of elevated classics and fresh, innovative dishes that make every visit feel special. Whether it’s a casual meal or a special event, the quality and consistency really stand out. The Sinclair continues to raise the bar. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a vibrant club community with outstanding food and beautifully upgraded facilities.

  During my recent visit to The Sinclair at Port Washington, now under new ownership, I'm witnessing a remarkable transformation. Previously, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), they have transitioned to a "Rental Only" model with affordable luxury pricing. The building is impeccably clean and well-maintained. I was greeted by valet service, allowing me to arrive and someone park my car. Upon entering, the welcoming front concierge staff immediately made me feel at home. I even had the pleasure of meeting the Executive Director, whose enthusiasm for the community was truly impressive. He discussed an ambitious $30 million renovation plan aimed at enhancing the already beautiful buildings and grounds. I noticed TVs displaying videos for what the renovations will look like. And the building is already beautiful. It was clear that the Executive Director genuinely cares, and his team reflects a vibrant, renewed spirit compared to my previous visits. I enjoyed a delightful dinner with my aunt, who raved about Chef Dan. The dining experience was exceptional, with gourmet dishes and attentive, accommodating wait staff that enhanced the overall atmosphere. The calendar of activities is abundant, featuring numerous upscale events and trips to highlights like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Broadway shows. Remarkably, they provide free bus transportation for residents to enjoy these excursions into the city. I also understand they have a Cadillac Town Car for residents to get anywhere in short distance for personal appointments. This community is turning out to be truly remarkable and maybe I will have to move-in soon next to my aunt.

From the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel the warmth, professionalism, and sense of pride throughout the building. The apartments are thoughtfully designed—bright, spacious, and comfortable, with modern finishes that make it feel like home. The common areas are beautifully maintained and provide welcoming spaces for socializing, activities, and gatherings with family and friends. What truly sets The Sinclair apart is the staff. They are attentive, respectful, and genuinely caring. The team goes above and beyond to ensure residents feel supported while still maintaining the independence and autonomy that is so important at this stage of life. The sense of community is wonderful. There are engaging activities, opportunities to build friendships, and a positive atmosphere that makes residents feel connected and valued. Families can feel confident knowing their loved ones are in a safe, vibrant environment.   I was in town visiting my grandmother and helping her downsize. We visited a bunch of communities and was honestly very impressed with the Sinclair and she asked me to write a review. She had visited a few years ago and she says the community feels very different, especially with staff and the valet parking. There is a video that shows what renovations are coming and it was very impressive, especially the steakhouse and dining room. Shout out to Oscar at the front desk who my grandma really connected with!!

  I live in the area and have known about this community for a long time. I recently toured and was thrilled to see the positive changes taking place. The business model is now a 100% rental model (no longer taking entrance fees, which caused its past financial issues, thank goodness) and they have a new ownership group who plans to invest $50 million to renovate the whole community over the next year (some renovations are already complete and look great). They have also brought in a local Long Island group, Chelsea, to manage the operations and it was obvious to me from when I walked in that they are a very professional outfit. Would highly recommend touring, it is a 180 degree change from its past.
