I had a great experience during my stay at Belair. Everyone on the medical staff from the PA's to the RN's were attentive and professional (Pat, Victor, Renee, Russell and more). I was visited by a PA daily; keeping up with my progress and concerns. The CNA's strive to make patients as comfortable as possible. The PT and OT team (Cindy, Danielle, Dina), worked on my challenges and made it enjoyable to be in the gym. I will always recommend Belair to anyone needing care for themselves or their loved ones.

Belair presents and “rates” as one of the better sub acute rehab centers in the area & that in itself is just very very sad. It does overall appear to be a pleasant well run facility. Looks are VERY deceiving. The “medical staff” leaves a lot to be desired! My mother had fallen & broke her hip in December. She had a hip replacement & needed to go short term to a sub acute facility for physical therapy rehab after being discharged from the hospital. The rehab department at Belair was amazing! The physical & occupational therapists were the ONLY good things about her stay! The CNA’s overall are not very nice! There are definitely a very few that are kind & compassionate, (I have complemented them) but overall they are not nice. They don’t answer the call bells in a timely manner & they berate the residents that “complain”! My mother left her cell phone open one night & I could not even believe the things that the aides were saying to her because she called me to tell me she had been waiting for over an hour to use the bathroom!
The food is absolutely horrible!! My mother, who is a retired dietician & who never complains, had nothing good to say about the food!
My mother had 2 syncope episodes while at Belair, (she had a history of heart failure & A-Fib) the first time thankfully I was there with my daughters! After she was unresponsive for 1-2mins & I was asking them to call 911 or telling them that I would, the nursing supervisor then called someone (presumably the ADON, or DON) while I was at the nursing station with my unresponsive mom & my two teenage daughters to tell them “the daughter is demanding me to call 911” She ended up in NUMC for 4 days! Unfortunately was then transferred back to Belair. My mother then had a second syncope episode at Belair & the NP decided she didn’t need to go to the hospital! I unfortunately was unable to go to Belair when this happened but did go to see my mother approximately 4 hours later. When I arrived I could not even believe how she looked & that the “medical staff” didn’t think she needed to go to the hospital! After only seeing my mother for 5mins I demanded that the nursing supervisor send her to the hospital! Of course she had to contact her supervisor who had to contact their supervisor & after going through the red tape with the facility she was finally sent via ambulance to Winthrop! She was in Winthrop for 7 days!!! Seven days yet the “medical staff” at Belair thought she was just fine & she didn’t need to go to the hospital after another syncope episode!! She was finally discharged HOME because certainly she was never going back to Belair!
If you are looking for a sub acute or long term facility for your loved one just know YOU need to be there as much as possible & even the places that have 5star ratings are not all that they claim!

As the passing of my mother at 113 is quickly approaching a year’s mark, I am sorely remiss in not sending this very strong THANK YOU TO THE ENTIRE STAFF. I appreciate all of you who were so involved in my mother’s well being for the three years that she spent there. All that good care must have worked because 113 is a formidable age that not too many people achieve.

My mom needed short term rehab after a month of hospital stay. I decided to check out Belaire and very happy I did. From the director, Roseann to the front door reception; everyone is so helpful, treat you like family , and professional. All the nurses, CNA’s , PT, OT, social workers, entertainment staff- can’t say enough about them. The care and love my mom has received from Belaire is beyond outstanding. The facility is very clean, decorated for the holidays, many rooms the families can spend time visiting with their loved ones. The food is not that bad neither which is unusual for rehabs.Your mind will be at ease that your loved one is safe and being taken cared of. I recommend this facility 110 percent and would not take my parents anywhere else but Belaire if needed in the future . Thank you Belaire for a great experience!

Hospitals provide a range of diagnostic and treatment services, including emergency and intensive care, surgery, diagnostics and imaging. Stays at hospitals are usually much shorter than in a SNF.
Skilled nursing facilities provide around-the-clock care to individuals in a short-term or long-term setting, including rehabilitation following surgeries, therapy services, and assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, eating, and dressing. SNFs are staffed by licensed nurses, therapists, and other medical care specialists.

Guests or a responsible party will need to complete an Admission Agreement form with the admissions team within 48 hours of arriving.
Please enquire with our admission team as to which documents you are required to provide copies of.

We provide a daily menu based on individual diets and preferences. We also have an “always available menu” for guests who prefer something different. Dietary aides are available to review our guests’ preferences and help make healthy selections that support care goals.
Whenever possible, we invite our guests to dine in a common area rather than in their rooms to enjoy the social benefits of gathering with others.
What should I leave at home?
Please leave valuables, such as jewelry, purses, wallets, and large amounts of money at home or with a loved one. We do not permit electrical items such as extension cords, space heaters, or electric blankets.

Short-term Medicare and Managed Care/Insurance Patients – During short-term stays, guests are permitted to leave the facility for special occasions (eg. a wedding, funeral, or special religious event), although not overnight.
Long-term Medicaid Patients – Long-term guests are allowed a leave of absence (LOA) based on the Medicaid allowable time. LOAs are reviewed and approved by our medical team to determine the safety of the time away and coordinate any plans to accommodate our guests’ care needs while they are away.
Private Pay Patients – These guests have no restrictions.
Who will be my doctor? When does the doctor visit?
We have several physicians who visit our guests within 48 hours of their arrival. They also make weekly rounds. If a guest prefers to use an existing primary care physician, our center staff will help them with the guidelines we’re required to follow to accommodate their request.
Our center also has nurse practitioners onsite and 24/7 on-call care staff. Our guest rooms may also include FDA-approved remote monitoring devices that monitor guests’ vitals 24/7. These devices are monitored by a team of RNs who can communicate with physicians and nurse practitioners if there are changes that need to be addressed.
Will i have a voice in my care plan?
It is every patient’s legal right to make their own choices about the care they receive, activities they participate in, and other aspects of their life while staying with us. A resident council, which is a self-governed body in our center, provides our guests with an opportunity to address any concerns.
When it comes to decisions around medical treatment, some guests can opt to give decision-making responsibilities to a loved one, such as a spouse, adult child, or other legally-designated person.
How long will guests stay at the center under their SNF benefit?
Each guest’s length of stay depends on their individual care plan and how they progress through therapy. Please note that insurance-approved days and coverage criteria apply. We will communicate with our guests or their designated caregiver regarding coverage throughout their stay.
How can guests leave the center?
When it comes to helping our guests return home or to another care setting, we closely monitor their progress and assess their requirements with activities of daily living.
