People shouting to each other and unnecessary loud in a sauna, grooming themselves, hanging their clothes, putting lotions on their body in a SAUNA! I started coming here because it’s near where I live and for over all my health and well being. And it’s been about two weeks since I started going. I noticed that this place lack awareness of etiquette towards others. I told front desk a couple of times but I was told, “there is nothing we can do”. I was shocked. This place appears to be not caring for other people who want to use the facility clean and respectful. Of course if they don’t do or say anything, these behaviors would not ever be improved. I don’t think they are inconsiderate people, they just don’t know. When I ask them nicely to keep it down, they say, “sorry” and are nice about it. It’s just that this place lack in supporting community to stay feel good. It’s completely not difficult to share information. I’d like YMCA to think about the big picture. The more awareness there are the better city becomes eventually with good manners. It is a gym which place people come to stay well and in a community. We have to make a small effort everywhere we can so that we learn and be better at considering others that everyone can stay feeling good. I’m very disappointed in front desk’s answers. They were not even friendly about it, each time saying “nothing we can do” (some were nice though just to give some of them credits) and I am very shocked and feel embarrassed that YMCA in NYC is very much behind.

Not a bad place to get my workout in during a layover. Machine weight room is small and limited. Not a lot of benches, I can't imagine how this place is when it's busy.
Check in staff was super friendly. Also, the trainer was very kind even offering alternative ways to hit the muscles I was working.

Coach Carolina is an excellent instructor. Teaching swim classes can be challenging, yet she approaches it with grace, kindness, and genuine attention to each of her students. She creates a supportive environment that fosters learning and growth. Some of the negative review(s) appear to come from individuals with unrealistic expectations, but in my experience, Coach Carolina demonstrates patience, skill, and professionalism in every class.
