We used their services for 2 years, which allowed our parents to remain in their home until our father passed and our mother needed more skilled personal care and supervision. As their needs changed over those 2 years, Home Instead quickly adapted to ensure their needs were met. At the beginning, Home Instead did their grocery shopping and provided basic housekeeping services for 4 hours every other week. By the end, they provided services for 5 hours on 4 days per week, which extended to social interaction with our parents and giving family members a break during the day while caring for our dad in home hospice. The care professionals showed incredible patience, kindness and professionalism towards our parents and their services were indispensable. In addition, the owners, Nancy and Sal, and their office team were very flexible and supportive as our dad entered hospice and our parents' health declined and their situation continuously changed. We cannot thank them enough for their service, compassion, and professionalism.

Where is the office located and what are the hours its open?
Our office is located in Auburn inside the Pheonix Building on the corner of South and Genesee Streets. The Pheonix Building is the only one in town with a clock tower. Our office hours are Monday - Friday from 8a-4p, however we do have staff to speak with after-hours for inquiries, concerns, or questions, or anything else that may come up.
What services do you provide?
We provide non-medical in-home care to aging adults such as companionship, meal planning and preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, laundry, home organization, errands, transportation, standby assistance when ambulating/showering/toileting, respite, encouragement and oversight to complete exercises, as well as overall safety and supervision.
What process does the Care Professional go through before they are allowed to work with a Home Instead client?
All Home Instead CarePro's are phone screened, interviewed (some are interviewed more than once), reference checked, drug tested, background checked. All CarePro's attend an in-person Orientation with training as well as being assigned additional training via our online training portal. Some CarePro's also receive on the job training as well.
Will insurance cover the cost of Home Instead services?
Unfortunately, our franchise office is non-medical and therefore is not recognized by any medical insurance company and will not be covered as such. Our office does participate with some forms of Long-Term Care insurance, if the Long-Term Care insurance covers non-medical services (it depends on how each policy is written). our office also will participate with Veterans Assistance Benefits, again as long as they cover our non-medical services. To find out if your Long-Term Care insurance or VA Benefits are covered, contact your carrier/coordinator.
