We attended two consecutive Sundays in February, 2020. Normally, members would recognize visitors since they do know their own congregation. However, our first Sunday here, only one member greeted us. I know he is a leader because he sat with the Bishopric. After Sacrament mtg, no one else came to greet us. I tried to say hello but folks were busy talking with other members and didn't want to intrude. I figured it was a Ward conference Sunday and everyone is busy. My husband felt uncomfortable and refused to stay after Sacrament. Then, we decided to go to the same ward the following Sunday.
Feb. 16, we went to Sacrament Mtg, again same ward and no one greeted us. After Sacrament, I tried to say hello to 'break the ice', however, I felt invisible; folks looked the other way. Well, a little pretty toddler was the only one with a sweet smile came up to me. However, after I smiled at her and at the parents, they just looked away. I am not complaining but if I was an investigator, I would have walked out on the first Sunday visit and never want to attend another Sacrament meeting. In fact, we saw another person who left the building and she looked disappointed. We had planned to invite a couple to attend Sacrament but they were out of town. I know your congregation knows most of the members in your ward because of the many wonderful organizations the church offers. That is, everyone basically knows their members. If you are visiting Oklahoma City, please join us and you will be greeted from our friendly members and missionaries, best of all, you will feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. Gracefully, I offered prayers that day for anyone who seeks the full gospel and not able to witness the Christlike love from those who have the full gospel in their lives. Respectfully, Sister Frazier
