The whole process so far has been very easy and the gentlemen who picked-up my husbands body, after he passed, were very king and respectful. The meeting that I had with Jeff Cruz went very well and he made it easy to get the arrangements in place for my husband's body to be embalmed and shipped out of state for burial. I recommend Berardinelli Family Funeral Service as a business that is professional and sensitive to the family's needs.

Jeff was born for what he does at Bernardinelli. He was kind, understanding, and a great comfort to me and my family during our most trying time. I would recommend your funeral home, and only your funeral home, to anyone in like circumstances. I’m comforted knowing that when my time comes Bernardinelli will be there to guide my family through their grief.

In a time of profound grief, the last thing anyone wants to worry about is the logistics and details surrounding the loss of a loved one. During the incredibly difficult period following the passing of our mother, sister, and friend, Rose, Berardinelli's Funeral Home, particularly Jeff, Consuelo, and Phil, emerged as an absolute beacon of solace, professionalism, and genuine care. From our very first interaction, it was clear that our mother, sister, and friend, Rose, was treated with the utmost dignity and respect, a sentiment that extended wholeheartedly to our entire family and those who loved her dearly. Jeff , Phil and Consuelo, along with their team, went not just above and beyond, but truly to an unparalleled level to ensure every aspect of a painful process was handled with sensitivity and seamless efficiency. What truly set Berardinelli's apart was their proactive approach and unwavering commitment to alleviating our stress. They not only managed the funeral arrangements flawlessly but also took on the heavy lifting of coordinating with other entities, such as the cemetery and the reception venue. Any potential problems or hiccups with these external parties were deftly handled behind the scenes, ensuring that everything — from the interment to the post-service gathering — went off without a hitch and, crucially, without adding any extra burden to our grieving hearts. The compassion, meticulous attention to detail, and tireless dedication demonstrated by Jeff, Consuelo, Phil, and the entire staff at Berardinelli's Funeral Home transformed a potentially overwhelming experience into one that allowed us to focus on honoring our mother, sister, and friend, Rose, and beginning our healing journey. We are eternally grateful for their exceptional service and highly recommend them to anyone seeking truly compassionate and comprehensive support during a time of loss. It's no wonder Berardinelli's has always been, and continues to be, the gold standard for funeral services in Santa Fe. They are, without a doubt, a cornerstone of comfort in our community.

Frequently Asked Questions About Berardinelli Family Funeral Service

If I am cremated, can I be buried with my spouse even if he or she was in a casket?

Yes — Depending upon the cemetery's policy, you may be able to save a grave space by having the cremains buried on top of the casketed remains of your spouse, or utilize the space provided next to him/her. Many cemeteries allow for multiple cremated remains to be interred in a single grave space.

What do I need to know about income tax when I lose a spouse?

Uncertainty about income tax issues can add to the stress experienced from the death of a spouse. You should meet with your family attorney and/or tax advisor as soon as possible to review your particular tax and estate circumstances. Bring a detailed list of your questions to the meeting. If you do not have an attorney or tax advisor, call the IRS toll-free at 800-829-1040 for answers to specific tax questions.
