- OBOctavia BaneAug 14, 20255.0Both our children attended Bright Horizons, for a total of 7 years, our daughter from age 2 1/2 to 5 1/2 years, and our son from 11 months to 4 1/2 years. I highly recommend this center, they are well-organized, keep detailed activity logs, especially in the Baby and Toddler groups, and do their best to encourage an “I can do it myself!” attitude in young children. Their space is also one of the best in the area, with spacious classroom, gym with climbing wall, and enclosed outdoor space. Our son will start public Pre-K this Fall knowing the shape and some sounds of his letters, his numbers, and his colors. I will remember fondly the first time he walked independently while at school, and the Toddlers teachers cheered him on ! Both he and his sister made their first “best friends” here, families with whom we are still in touch and have playdates. During the pandemic, when our eldest attended, they were able to offer in-person daycare with social distancing and masking, while public Pre-K was entirely online. They also offer back-up care for school aged children, who have their own separate classroom in which they can do teacher-led art projects or LEGO builds. We will love to say hello to their earliest teachers, whenever we have back-up care needs in the future!

We enrolled son there twice in 2018... once when he was under a year of age.. and again after he was a little over a year. Both the times he was there for short periods for 2-3 months. When we needed to enroll our son in a daycare I was looking for a safe and secure, hygienic, warm, passionate establishment. We were really not looking for daycares where the teacher to student ratio is maintained but there is overcrowding in the rooms. This daycare checked out on all my primary conditions. Our son was going into a daycare for the first time coming straight out of home nurturing. We were pleased to find that the daycare made every effort until my son who is shy by nature, accepted and adjusted to the daycare routine. The director Maria runs the daycare with as much compassion as being thoroughly professional. She is totally hands on if need be. All the teachers in the infants room were warm, patient, fun, attentive and performed the tasks well. The buggy rides outside to the Weehawken port in summers were a bonus. The daycare did not leave any stone un-turned to make our son happy and be well taken care of, even when they knew that we would be there for a short time only. Would surely recommend this daycare to anyone looking around that area.
