    The story behind this cemetery is heart wrenching. You can learn all about it in the Winter Quarters visitor center next-door. Definitely do that first, then visit this cemetery. You are walking on hallowed ground. It is a very spiritual experience if you know the story. Knowing that over 150 children (ages 2 and under) are buried there, gives you an idea of the monumental sacrifice these early Mormon pioneers made.
