For those that don't know me, my name is Jim Waits. I'm 56 years old and I've lived in Kinston since I was 8, having moved here from Gary, Indiana. Something people don't know about me is that I am a gay man. I've known I was gay since I was 11, when I started having strange feelings for my friend Steve. He and I were close at two friends could be. Anyways, I went to this church last Sunday because I keep having these incessant thoughts about this man who works at the Neuse Sport Shop gun department. and I was feeling terrible and needed to cleanse my mind. I didn't know what church to go to as last time I went to mass they weren't very accepting, and they kept giving strange looks, and I went to the synagogue and they didn't treat me any better. I tried going to a mosque and I got the same treatment. So I just said what the hell and went to the LDS church. Boy oh boy, it was like I had been given a clean slate. They all looked at me with love and kindness and not "oh look at the freaky gay guy." It was the first time since I had been kicked out of my parents house that I truly felt loved and accepted. I left this review because it has truly made my month and I will definitely be going back. Thank you so much Joseph Smith
