A few strong teachers kept me coming back for probably a bit too long as the administration drove me to endless frustration. I started my son in 2020 and the changes have been dramatic. The Director is an absolute disaster and her leaders may possibly be worse. If you want to feel like an insignificant number in a money hungry corporate run school, then maybe you’d enjoy Victoria’s style. I gave the school simple requests, like asking to be able to drop my 2.5 yr old off in the morning to a consistent teacher, she always gave a snarky retort and no solutions. I took concerns to leaders above her in an effort to help the best teachers get what they needed to remain but as they did nothing, I watched many of the best leave one after the next. Ms Candace was wonderful but with Victoria in the lead spot this place is a mess. Not sure I would let her teach my child let alone make decisions for the whole school. At times I truly wondered if she had the aptitude and decision making ability to handle a true emergency and when I accepted that concern I ultimately removed my child from the school leaving behind many friends established since infant hood. Three months later and I see even clearer in the new school what GY Discovery had lost under this new ownership.

WARNING to Parents – Please Read Before Enrolling Your Child
My daughter began attending this center shortly after her first birthday. As soon as she started walking and talking, I was prepared for the next chapter—but unfortunately, what followed was a series of deeply troubling experiences.
First, my 2-year-old developed unexplained black eyes. No clear incident was ever reported or explained. Not long after, she contracted a scalp ringworm infection, which I later learned was likely due to the unsanitary conditions of the daycare environment. These are serious red flags for any parent.
I also had numerous unprofessional and upsetting encounters with a staff member named Victoria. She was consistently disrespectful and misused her authority. On top of that, they withheld incident reports that I am legally entitled to receive, along with financial documentation I requested.
Things escalated when I pushed back against the disrespectful treatment. Because I did not respond submissively when Victoria made a demand—nor did I appreciate being dismissed when I asked to speak with someone in charge—she locked me in her office, called the police, and falsely accused me of assaulting a teacher. This was an incredibly traumatizing and unjust experience.
After that, I tried to give another location a chance, specifically the one on Prosperity Church Road, hoping for better treatment. I spoke with Summer, who initially seemed professional and helpful. But sadly, our experiences only worsened at the second location.
Please take this review seriously before deciding to entrust your child to either of these daycare centers. No parent should have to endure what my children and I went through.
Assurance that this report be recorded and considered in the licensing and oversight process for this facility and any affiliated locations.
I am prepared to provide photographs, medical records, and witness statements upon request.

Everyone at the DHLC were great, especially Miss Debbie and the Guppies teachers. I’ve had experience with several other local daycares and this by far has been one of my favorites! The staff were very good about Covid protocols and cleanliness. I appreciated the teachers not wearing their outside shoes into the classroom as my baby was obviously on the floor a lot. Anyone would be lucky to have Miss Kaitlin and the other teachers at DHLC take care of their children. I would absolutely send my children here again!
