  In all the ways that mattered most, Arbor Lakes Senior Living has exceeded all our hopes and dreams for where our father would live after an Alzheimers diagnosis. As a social worker shared with us at the time of diagnosis, the goal of keeping him "safe and happy" was most important and that was far eclipsed at Arbor Lakes. From the first phone call with Bjorn and Becky in October 2022, my dad's humanity was centered with care and respect. I too felt such care and kindness as I stumbled through the process of such a heart breaking diagnosis and finding the perfect place for him to spend his remaining years. So why Arbor Lakes Senior Living? My family and I loved that our dad could retain his independence in his large and beautiful 1 bedroom independent living apartment and then could stay in that same apartment when he needed assisted living help and care. They also offered full memory care if that was needed. As we originally searched MANY senior care facilities, Arbor Lakes stood out with the sweet spot of a very clean and comfortable decor that my father felt at home in, not like many we saw with the drab grey modern decor, and offering delicious meals in the dining room, activities for all levels of need, support groups, and most importantly a kind, caring staff. The staff in all levels from nurses, assistants, custodial support, dining room and front office staff have all been exemplary throughout. One particular service that felt like a value added kindness that other buildings did not have was the complementary morning wellness checks that were done daily by the beautiful Nicole and Yaya whose bright shiny greetings were a touchstone point of contact for my dad each day that he looked forward to. Each day as they made small talk with my dad they would kindly remind him of the importance of hydration and would reset his thermostat when needed, as was often set uncomfortably high. While Arbor Lakes offers many types of rooms with differing locations/views we appreciated the perspective that Bjorn and Becky offered us to think of which views would in fact be enjoyed the most while sitting for most of the day near their gorgeous huge windows. Activities were plentiful, the pricing was quite competitive offering Elderly Waiver if and when necessary and the meals nutritious with the staff in the dining room making a point to know each resident's name and preferences. Maintenance issues were addressed immediately and emails with questions were always returned in short time. But more than anything the thing I hoped to share was the spirit that lives within the walls at Arbor Lakes. EVERYONE is so kind. Truly I have never seen a community centered on taking good care of each other. The residents all truly care for each other, each one with their own story and season of life with different diagnoses. But respect and care is felt by all. As I packed out my dad's apartment after his passing, it was a gift to my hurting heart each resident or staff that popped by to share how much they will miss my dad. As I turned in my dad's keys I smiled and said, "You might see us living here one day in the future!" knowing that anyone would be so lucky to live out their days at Arbor Lakes Senior Living. This reminds me of the last thing I wanted to share. The 2 staff that came to pickup my dad to bring him to the funeral home after his passing asked us if they could share something with us. They shared that they pick up the deceased from care facilities all over the Twin Cities and they said that "your dad was so lucky to live here. This care facility is at the top of all we have seen." Thank you Arbor Lakes Senior Living for everything! We appreciate you all!

  We couldn’t be happier with the care my mom has received at Arbor Lakes Senior Living. From day one, the entire team has shown incredible compassion, professionalism, and kindness. It’s clear that the staff truly care about the residents and treat them with respect and dignity. The activities program is absolutely phenomenal—thanks to the outstanding Activities Director (Janni), there is always something engaging and meaningful happening. The events are creative, well-organized, and truly go above and beyond in helping residents stay active and connected. The facility itself is spotless and very well-maintained, which gives families great peace of mind. The nursing staff (Sandi)are attentive, patient, and always available when needed. The Director (Becky) is also a huge asset—responsive, kind, and clearly invested in the well-being of every resident. Communication has been excellent, and it’s reassuring to know there’s leadership in place that genuinely listens and acts quickly when concerns arise. This community has been a blessing for our family, and we’re so grateful for the care and joy they bring to my mom’s life.

  DO NOT bring any family here that you love! Staff is all about sales, pricing, income. Staff, especially care staff, is dishonest, manipulative, and calculating towards increased income goals for every patient. Care is very poor overall. Medications are not given on time and occasionally missed. Care staff leadership is abhorrent and outright dishonest. Personal belongings, including jewelry, have disappeared without explanation. They have received multiple complaints to State of MN Dept of Health as well as Ombudsman liaison offices. Complaints were validated, documented, and recorded. Do not put your trust in them or leave your family with this facility. It will be regrettable.
