I beg you to please NOT send your babies here!!! My review is for the infants room as I have no knowledge or firsthand experience with the rooms for older children but If they handle the innocent babies the way that my son was handled I would be leary...... Initially going in and viewing the place I thought it was great. It was clean, the receptionist was nice, and the teachers seemed nice. I went to the facility on several different occasions before enrolling my then 6 month old son and all my encounters were pleasant. Once he was enrolled they pulled a true DR JEKYYL MR HYDE on me. My son was ONLY there for NOT EVEN a FULL WEEK. They left my son to cry all day (how do I know this?) My son had a full head of hair when i brought him there and in less than a week (three days to be exact) my son was bald on the entire left side to the middle of his head. And I mean bald to the skin!!!!!!. The attitudes of the teachers went from bad to worse in the short amount of time he was there. I tried to offer suggestions on how to soothe him and they were all shot down RUDELY. At one point one teacher told me they have a lot of kids and they dont have time to just "deal" with my son. He nursed on demand and they told me they couldnt feed him that way and he needed to eat a certain amount at one time during the scheduled time again because they have other kids they have to care for so at that point I was FED UP!!! Upon picking him up my son would be visibly upset and he would be sniffling and unable to catch his breath (you know how when a child has been crying for an extended amount of time). They knew nothing about breastfed babies as my son was (and still is) and were very rude offereing me "advice" and telling me what my son needed. His last day I went and picked him hup he had a cut in teh corner of his eye that was bleeding. they told me while he was laying on teh floor he grabbed his eye. Which was a lie a. his nails were cut. b. he has never just grabbed in his face. c. at that age when ever my son was layed on his stomach for some reason he always put his arms down to his sides. So when I took my son out and told them why and emailed the district head (and provided her before and after pics of my sons head) detailing my horrific experience with this center what did they do????? Begged me to place my son back in their care if they made the staff of the infant room go to infant training!!! Like seriously they havent already had that? they also let go of the teacher that was most rude (apparently they had been having problems with her) WHICH ONLY MAKES ME QUESTION WHY SHE WAS EVEN EMPLOYED THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE IF SHE WAS AS THEY PUT IT "SUCH A PROBLEM". And then to top it off they offered me free tuition "for a while". First off I am a single parent and I wouldnt dare send my child back there if they offered me free tuition for a lifetime for my son and all future children. I was devastated and hurt to say the least that I had my my child in that environment. And all I got was that they pretty much knew their staff in the infant room had no training in regards to infants, breastfed babies, and that their staff had less than sub par attitudes. PLEASE I WARN YOU DO NOT I repeat DO NOT SEND YOUR PRECIOUS BABIES TO THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!! EVER. I had to give a review because looks are deceiving when it comes to this place and I would never want anyone else's son or daughter to endure the type of treatment or lack thereof that my son recieved while at the Detroit Diesel UAW Bright Horizons location.
