Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are considered houses of God, a place of holiness and peace separate from the preoccupations of the world. They provide a place where Church members make formal promises and commitments to God. They are also the place where the highest sacraments of the faith occur — the marriage of couples and the "sealing" of families for eternity. Temples serve as the only place where ceremonies such as baptism and eternal marriage can be performed on behalf of those who have died. Temples point Latter-day Saints to Jesus Christ and their eventual life with Him.
Customers consistently praised the temple's stunning architecture, beautiful grounds, and serene environment, especially during the Christmas light display.

It’s free to attend, but make sure to reserve your parking pass in advance. The Festival of Lights evening show sells out quickly, especially since the displays feel even more magical after dark (starting at 5:30pm). It’s also wise to arrive earlier than your scheduled time because the parking lot fills up fast, even with a reservation.

Thank you for offering free admission to the festival of lights during the holiday season. It’s a very pretty area in any season.

One of the most beautiful, stunning, and unique temples in the world that I've seen. We went to see the Christmas lights on the grounds and visit the visitor center. The visitor center is very nice and has various things to see and to learn more about Jesus Christ and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to go inside because of the weather (too cold) but we rode around the Temple twice and it was beautiful.

The most beautiful Christmas light display in the DC area. And if you're looking for Christmas tree decorating ideas, this is the place to come. Finally, the collection of nativity scenes from around the world can't be beat.
