At Devanny-Condron Funeral Home provides funeral home, cremation, burial, memorial and veteran funeral services with licensed funeral directors. "Friends Helping Friends Since 1915"
Our Pre-Planning Services make it easy for you to get your express wishes down in writing, ensuring that you have the kind of memorial service you truly desire and that your friends and loved ones can have total peace of mind that they are adhering to your wishes. We host Burial Services that convey both the solemnity of the occasion, but also the joy that comes from celebrating the life of a dear loved one. For those who choose it, we also offer Cremation Services; cremation can be a meaningful way in which many families mark the death of a loved one. We offer services tailored to honor those who are military service members and veterans, as well.
I deeply appreciate the exceptional care provided by the funeral home during a challenging time. Their responsiveness to communication through text, emails, and calls was commendable. The transparent and reasonable fees, with no unexpected charges, allowed us to honor our family's wishes without added stress. The funeral director's kindness and compassion were truly comforting, creating a judgment-free space. Overall, I am grateful for the support and understanding exhibited throughout the entire process.

Devanny Condron funeral Home has been wonderful to our family over many years in our most difficult moments. In the last 1.5 years our family lost three of our family matriarchs. Our precious Mom and two Aunts. A very overwhelming time that was made easier by the loving care taken by Caroline & John at Devanny Condron. They did a beautiful job with all three services and added such a personal and human touch to every detail. I highly recommend their services.

Devanney's has taken care of so many of my family members I have lost count. John Bresnahan is the best in caring and compassion in the most difficult time of your life. I always recommend Devanney's if someone should ask because I personally and many family members have always depended on them when we needed them the most.

I cannot express how much thanks I have for the team at Devanny-Condron Funeral Home for helping us during this heartbreaking time. Through the entire process they have been extremely respectful, helpful, and quick. I appreciate them even going so far to make things contactless for us. We worked with Lisa and Elizabeth who have been extremely caring during every phone call. I especially am thankful to the care Lisa put into informing us of things we were not even aware was an option, like keeping a fingerprint.
Recommending a funeral home is never something you want to have to do to someone, but Devanny-Condron would be the only one I would recommend to someone. They truly are the best place to go during the worst time of your life.

Frequently Asked Questions About Devanny-Condron Funeral Home
Do we need to have an obituary notice and what is included in one?
It is highly recommended to have an obituary notice that is either posted in a local newspaper or online. An obituary lets the public know that a death has occurred and provides them with information about the service. Obituaries generally include the deceased’s full name, age, city, and date of birth, as well as the city they were living in when they died. It also includes the name of the deceased’s spouse, along with the names of anyone else significant in their lives, such as parents, children, or grandchildren. Space may be limited in a newspaper obituary, but you might also wish to include a short sentiment on the life and legacy of the deceased. An online obituary or memorial website offers you the chance to add a lot more about the deceased.
Is there financial help if I need it?
There are a number of options available, including:
Determine if the deceased person qualifies for any entitlements. Check with the Social Security Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and with your State Fund. Many people are entitled to get financial assistance with their funeral costs from these agencies if they qualify.
Review all insurance policies the deceased person has, including life insurance. Some life insurance policies have coverage clauses for funeral related costs.
Find local charities providing financial help for funeral expenses. Search for non profit organizations and for churches in your area.
Talk to your funeral director about cremation options - these can be much less expensive depending on your choices.
Does a dead body have to be embalmed, according to law?
The Federal Trade Commission says, "Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial."
Why are funerals so expensive?
When compared to other major life events like births and weddings, funerals are not expensive. A wedding costs at least three times as much; but because it is a happy event, wedding costs are rarely criticized. A funeral home is a 24-hour, labor-intensive business, with extensive facilities (viewing rooms, chapels, limousines, hearses, etc.), these expenses must be factored into the cost of a funeral.
Additionally, the cost of a funeral includes not only merchandise, like caskets, but the services of a funeral director in making arrangements; filing appropriate forms; dealing with doctors, ministers, florists, newspapers and others; and seeing to all the necessary details.
Do I have to make different funeral arrangements if I choose cremation?
It really depends entirely on how you wish to commemorate a life. One of the advantages of cremation is that it provides you with increased flexibility when you make your funeral and cemetery arrangements. You might, for example, choose to have a funeral service before the cremation; a memorial service at the time of cremation or after the cremation with the urn present; or a committal service at the final disposition of cremated remains. Funeral or memorial services can be held in a place of worship, a funeral home or in a crematory chapel.
