I understand dealing with tough times. Getting help at the right time can keep a rough patch from becoming a long-term problem. Whether you are dealing with loneliness, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, drug /alcohol problems, sexual compulsivity or coming out, having a professional to help guide and support you along the way can make the growing easier.
Together, we will work to build on your strengths and achieve life goals. I value and honor the relationship between therapist and client, and uphold the highest ethical and legal obligations within each relationship.
I believe counseling is a collaborative experience. Making the decision to begin therapy can be scary, overwhelming or exciting and cathartic. I respect that decision.
My job as your therapist is to create a safe place for you to be real, share your vulnerabilities and work with you to create a congruency between your feelings, thinking and behavior. When those three parts of self are in alignment, your potential for happiness and self awareness increase.

Huge shout out to Dr. Owen. I recently made the decision to get therapy for the first time after realizing that I did not have the correct tools or guidance for a confusing time in my life.
He is patient, intuitive, professional and wise. I really feel that he's (com)passionate about helping his patients.
I feel more peaceful now than I have in quite some time -- and even more equipped to handle my days..life.
It's challenging self-work daily if you're serious about getting the most out of therapy.

I adore this man!! He is so utterly warm, compassionate, open-minded, and insightful. Usually in therapy the first few sessions are kind of a waste, just getting the therapist up to speed, but Jimmy is so insightful he was able to pinpoint root issues in the first session and we got right to work. He is also funny, which is extremely helpful in working through sensitive areas. But the best thing about him is he doesn't nickel and dime. For him it's not about money...it's about helping people. Can't say enough about him!

Over the past 5 years or so, I have had the good fortune to experience Jimmy Owen's gifts through many different vehicles: Weekly therapy sessions, couples therapy with my husband, an intensive couple's communication workshop, as well as a summer-long series of small group sessions. Clearly, I deeply value everything Jimmy has to offer as both a therapist and as a fellow human being trying to make the world a better place. I have only positive things to say about the integrity and effectiveness of Jimmy's work. He's brilliant, kind, well-read and incredibly funny. If you're looking for a top-notch practitioner who will help you articulate actionable ways to improve the quality of your life, get in touch with Jimmy…you'll be glad you did.
