My kids had a green band before in swimming, are in a swim team, can swim all 4 strokes, dive & flip, none of which they learnt at this location as the swim classes are bad here. We went here one day for them to practice for a race they had the day after. Their green bands expired and they had to test for a new one. My older son who is about 4 feet and 5 inches tall, while threading water moved from one spot to another, and the lifeguard failed him and gave him a red band and said he can practice for his race with a life jacket. I wonder if people of all different races are treated with the same respect. I have been a member with you for many years and its disappointing. The place is just getting worse by the day.

I will never return here or renew my membership. She also wanted to “call me back” instead of trying to resolve my simple question. Starting to think she just didn’t know how to even answer simple questions. She also stated she isn’t supposed to suspend my membership, that’s it’s my “job” to do that. LOL

Yes! The YMCA of Central Kentucky’s Before and After School program provides youth with a safe place to go before or after the bell. More importantly, it helps youth realize who they are and what they can achieve. The balanced program supports academic achievement, fosters health and wellness, and instills positive social-emotional skills. Care is provided onsite at schools or children are transported to the Y. Program runs from the end of the school day until 6 p.m. unless noted.

Our swimming programs are led by trained instructors who are certified in CPR and First Aid in addition to their formal swim instructor training.
