No longer have TV near the bike studio. - And that's great!
There are several TVs around displaying information. ~ in 2025 they removed the one near the studio. I'm on screens all day already, and still found myself staring at it. It's a much better experience without it! Plenty of screens still around for people that want them!

I've been coming to this Y for nearly a year. Yesterday's visit was quite busy but I think it was because many, like me, were getting back into their gym routines following the holidays.

When I walked in there was a whiteboard sign that said "I thought the dryer was shrinking my clothes, turns out it was the refrigerator". Listen I understand gyms exist to promote healthy living but as someone that is overweight and lived through the thin is in era of the early 2000s this kind of language is harmful. It encourages eating disorders. I'm sure whoever put this out thought it was cute and funny. I come here with my mom for water aerobics often and it's always clean, nice facility but this really left a bad taste in my mouth. It doesn't uplift anyone that may be dealing with bad food habits. It just makes them feel bad about themselves. Not super motivating. It insinuates that the only reason you are fat is because your eat to much and that being skinny is the most important part doesn't matter how you get there. It also has hidden tones of fat people are stupid because they dont know why they are fat. Idc if I get called a snowflake or say that its not that deep. As someone that has struggled with their weight their entire life because of hormone/health related issues as well as a bad relationship with food, words matter. It is that deep. There are a lot of overweight people that have to build up a lot of courage to go to the gym because of stuff like this. I thought we were leaving the thinspiration bs in the 2000s. It's 2026 guys. Everyone's health journey is different and there shouldn't be any judgements involved.
