Nathan and the staff are amazing and did a wonderful job when my dad passed. I can not recommend them enough. They truly care about the family and helping them the process. They are upholding the long tradition Carmen has established.

I haven't been to a funeral home that has gone so far out of their way to accommodate and decorate as Carman's did. The distance they've gone to make the family comfortable in such difficult times is truly admirable.

I visited this funeral home for a service this past month, and I was completely blown away. In times like these, you expect to be sad and services usually match the mood, however the service I attended was a celebration of life. My dear friend lost a sister who absolutely adored Christmas, and the funeral home went above and beyond to personify that. I walked in and felt like I was at the North Pole, with the beautiful Christmas trees and completely personalized decorations. Almost everyone I speak with who has had a loved one at Carmen’s has a similar experience. I cannot say enough about the incredible staff that continues to exceed expectations and bring so much joy to such a sad circumstance.

When my son died unexpectedly, Carman cared for his remains. I don't believe anyone could have been kinder, more compassionate, or more thorough than they were. They went the extra mile for my family, and I will be able to look back at this terrible time with much more serenity because of their actions.

Frequently Asked Questions About Carman Funeral Home

Should I choose Burial or Cremation?

Burial in a casket is the most common method of disposing of remains in the United States, although entombment also occurs. Cremation is increasingly selected because it can be less expensive and allows for the memorial service to be held at a more convenient time in the future when relatives and friends can come together. A funeral service followed by cremation need not be any different from a funeral service followed by a burial. Usually, cremated remains are placed in urn before being committed to a final resting place. The urn may be buried, placed in an indoor or outdoor mausoleum or columbarium, or interred in a special urn garden that many cemeteries provide for cremated remains. The remains may also be scattered, according to state law.

What is the purpose of embalming?

Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body. Embalming makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, allowing family members time to arrange and participate in the type of service most comforting to them.
