- DSDebbie SrnaApr 15, 20265.0My mom, who is a resident of Home of the Flint Hills Memory Care Unit, has been treated with nothing but care, compassion, respect, and love from the staff and nurses who take care of her every day. I appreciate the peace of mind that I have knowing that she is in an environment where she is safe and her physical and emotional needs are tended to. I am grateful for the communication from the staff and nurses, so that I am aware of any concerns that they have. The facility itself is clean, safe, and well-maintained. My family is so fortunate that Home of the Flint Hills is in our community and that my mom has found her home during this difficult journey through dementia.
- RBRachelle BrooksJan 22, 20262.0Looks really nice on the outside, but poorly run. The owner is also the administrator, and is not a warm and fuzzy person. Most of the administrative staff is family, so if you bring up a concern, they all cover for each other. They can't keep good staff and often need to bring in "agency" workers from outside. They often do hire kind and compassionate staff, but they aren't able to keep them. When I brought up concerns about my loved one being verbally abused or questioning why scheduled activities weren't being carried out, etc, I was given excuses, and was met with hostility from the administrator/owner. Her office as well as the nurse's office is in another building next door, and the admin staff rarely spends time in the same building as the residents. There may or may not be a nurse in the building at any given time. Would not recommend.
