My Dad was 88 when he passed. My mom had already passed, he and one of my siblings had dealt with the funeral home for her service. So when it came to his service, we were a little unsure of what to do even though we had been through it 10 years ago. But that service had been beautiful so we had no doubt to have it there again. My brothers went there on the day of my father's death and got things started. Dustin and Tracey basically helped us through the whole process from obituaries to what to have at the service. It was beautiful, and we had a grandkid set up old pictures that my sister had picked out, on his laptop (he just had to bring it and a HDMI cord). But while my household set up the snacks (a few of our dad's favorite snack foods), Laura our funeral director and 2 other ladies(sorry, I forgot their names but they were all wonderful!) helped guide my family on where to put physical pictures and awards for people to see. Also, they put comfortable chairs and a sofa around the monitor to see the 215!! pictures that the grandson had put on his laptop the night/morning before the service! It was wonderful! Several people who came and wanted to see the photos were elderly so it was nice for them to have a chair to sit and look at the pictures and especially when others would come and sit and talk with them about what they were seeing!! I've never seen a memorial service set up so well! We were given a podium with a microphone we used that for the service in the chapel for a song, blessings and prayers and stories/memories. Just a suggestion, but afterwards, we went to the Chinese buffet across the street with almost 30 people. Just let them know a few days before that you are coming. Try to make it early afternoon like 3:30. Our visitation at Shirley Brothers was 1-2:30, then the service was 2:30-3. We came around noon to set up. We couldn't have asked for better.

Beware: Don't pre plan with Shirley brothers. My grandmother had made out her plans and paid for them ahead of time, then when she passed, they wanted more money for the plans she had already purchased. Not exactly the peace of mind she thought she was purchasing.

Compassionate and caring service with Shirley Brothers at the passing of my Mother. During COVID, they were especially helpful with keeping everyone safe. Mr Gray was so kind and made this difficult time easier.
