Well done. I felt comfortable working with Chantele to help organize my husband's funeral arrangements. She was very empathetic. The only negative comment I have is regarding the floral arrangement I ordered. I was disappointed in that It seemed to be half the size i expected for the cost.

This is an amazing place with the kindest, most caring people I have met. My stepdad passed away over 2 years ago. They were so helpful and kind in the process. They let my daughter come and stay with him while she was grieving deeply. They talked to her about cremation because my stepdad wanted to be cremated. They were so kind and caring to her. My mom also didn't have funds to cremate her husband; they worked so much with her.
My Mom just recently passed away in October, 2025. My brother and I, worked with Chantele. She was AMAZING! She walked us thru everything, was kind, warm, and heartfelt. She made sure we had everything we needed and completely walked us through all our questions. Again, I hadn't wanted to cremate my mom, but her kindness and sensitivity helped my family work thru our concerns. Chantele made sure we didn't miss anything and was readily available for all my questions the next few days. My husband and I spent 6 hours gathering pictures for her online obituary website, and just sent them in. I expected just plain pictures to flash across the website. INSTEAD, CHANTELE MADE A BREATH-TAKING VIDEO THAT BROUGHT AND STILL BRINGS ME TO TEARS. She had wild horses running in on the beginning with a saying and my Mom's name. My mom LOVED horses and I'm not sure I even said that to Chantele. I COULD NEVER HAD MADE SURE A BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE TO MY MOM. My mom had dementia and it was hard to remember her back to who she was. The video brought who she was to life! It showed her love for her kids, grand-kids, horses, God and Family. IT BROUGHT ME TO TEARS.... AND I WILL FOREVER BE SO GRATEFUL FOR THE EXTRA MILLION MILES CHANTELE WENT FOR ME AND MY MOM. All family who have seen the video, have been amazed!
THIS IS AN AMAZING PLACE TO TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES FOR THEIR NEXT JOURNEY IN LIFE.... AND TO HELP YOU NAVIGATE YOURS.

Used to be a great place but its gone downhill since there's been some changes to their staff for some reason. Unfortunately, Chantelle has not been one of those changes. She came to the house to take our loved one and she was intoxicated. So much so that the police had to take the van back to the funeral place and escort her as well.
I have heard from others that she has showed up to funeral services drunk and still others that had to wait for months for death certificates due to her tardiness.
Overall, I wouldn't let Chantelle anywhere close to your family if you choose to use Dakan's services. I'm going to go to the state and see if someone there can do anything about her. sad

I am sharing this review on behalf of my mother about her experience:
Recently my mother (Jeri) passed away and approximately six years ago we had prepaid for her funeral at Dakan Funeral Chapel.
As this was my first experience managing a funeral, I was unaware of the extensive process still involved. Fortunately, Kayla Apple, an exceptional member of your team, provided me with the guidance I needed. She is an invaluable asset to your team. Given my meticulous nature, she promptly addressed my concerns and demonstrated remarkable patience. She responded to my phone calls and emails with diligence and went above and beyond to facilitate the arrangements. She collaborated with my son in setting up the music and slideshow. The funeral service was a resounding success, and I am deeply grateful for the dignified sendoff my mother received.
Additionally, we rented the Community Center, and Kayla Apple provided invaluable assistance the evening prior to the service to ensure the smooth execution of the dinner.
When we encountered an issue at the burial site, Kayla Apple promptly contacted the cemetery, only to face resistance. Undeterred, she took proactive measures to resolve the situation while maintaining her commitment to escalate the matter to a higher level. This not only alleviated my concerns but demonstrated your company’s unwavering dedication to handling challenging situations effectively.
Kayla Apple exhibited a remarkable blend of professionalism, compassion, and respect. Her exceptional efforts in ensuring a seamless and respectful funeral service were evident. I wholeheartedly recommend Dakan Funeral Chapel and Kayla Apple to anyone seeking to honor the memory of their departed loved ones.

From the moment I walked in to Dankan I was greeted and treated as a friend. Kayla was the best person ever. This was not an easy process for either of us due to our situation. This girl handled everything so gracefully and professionally. It was my pleasure to have met her and have her knowledge and patience. Thank you is not enough but it's all heartfelt. I will not forget your kindness. Take care. If you need a caring, helpful and trustworthy place for a final farewell to a loved one try Dankan.

When I call, will someone come right away?
If you request immediate assistance, yes. If the family wishes to spend a short time with the deceased to say good-bye, that’s perfectly acceptable. Your funeral director will come when your time is right.
Should I choose Burial or Cremation?
Burial in a casket is the most common method of disposing of remains in the United States, although entombment also occurs. Cremation is increasingly selected because it can be less expensive and allows for the memorial service to be held at a more convenient time in the future when relatives and friends can come together.
A funeral service followed by cremation need not be any different from a funeral service followed by a burial. Usually, cremated remains are placed in urn before being committed to a final resting place. The urn may be buried, placed in an indoor or outdoor mausoleum or columbarium, or interred in a special urn garden that many cemeteries provide for cremated remains. The remains may also be scattered, according to state law.
What is the purpose of embalming?
Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body. Embalming makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, allowing family members time to arrange and participate in the type of service most comforting to them.
Does a dead body have to be embalmed, according to law?
The Federal Trade Commission says, "Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial."
