- TBTom BuchananDec 10, 20235.0I was homeless for most of my childhood. As a teenager I finally put my entire life in Gods hands not knowing before hand where my life would go. I ended up being taken in off the streets by an LDS family that loves me and treats me as one of their own. A year later I became excited about the good news. Jesus Christ could bring me peace and salvation. I decided to repent, be baptized, recieve the Holy Ghost, and embark on my quest to endure to the end. The last bit, enduring to the end became quite the challenge after returning home from serving mission. Bit by bit I gave in to old addictions I had experienced during my time on the streets. Alcohol and drugs replaced spiritual experiences and my faith desolved. Twenty years later, I found myself as a single parent of three young children desperate for a way to navigate this life. Again, I sought an awnser fro God, and again He put me in a situation where I was surround by Latter Day Saint that brought light and love in to my life. Now, I am happy to say that I have returned to the church. I have remarried a wondful woman who also investigated the church. She also decided to repent, be baptized, recieve the Holy Ghost, and now together we are on a journey to endure to the end. In two weeks my wife will be recieving her endowments as I return to the temple for the first time since my missionary years.
