Firstly, I want to acknowledge Gemma and Ivanka, who were consistently caring and professional. I always felt confident leaving my son in their care, and I appreciate the attention and warmth they showed towards him. However, there were a few aspects of the nursery experience that raised concerns. For instance, there were no tabletop activities during the afternoon starts, which changed once I pointed it out to the room leader. I also observed that the room leader often spent time sitting on the floor when I was in the room, and on one occasion, she even fell on my son, which made me uneasy. Another ongoing issue was the frequent circulation of chickenpox and other sicknesses amongst the children. While I understand that nurseries are susceptible to such bugs, it seemed to be more extreme at this setting, with chickenpox lingering for around three months. I also want to mention that my son hasn’t attended the nursery since November due to a number of reasons. When I requested to terminate the contract, I was told that they had already claimed his funding until the end of March, despite payments being made at the start of each month. They have essentially been receiving a payment for my son since November despite the fact he has not attended (attended for a few hours one afternoon in December). I was also told that they would look into what they could do to help with this and no one ever got back to me. This situation is quite frustrating as it means my son wouldn’t be able to attend for a total of 5-6 months, which doesn't seem to prioritize his best interests. Finally, please be aware that if you plan to remove your child from the nursery, they require 8 weeks’ notice. While there were some positive aspects, overall, I feel there were areas that could be improved for both the children’s well-being and the parents’ experience.

My eldest son started at 9 months and he is about to leave pre school to start school and I have never had any doubt in the level of care and learning my child has received at Busy Bees Gillingham Brompton. Every room he has been in to the staff have been incredible and so friendly and loyal to my son, he has thrived attending here and I still remember when we first viewed the nursery, it was 'the one'. Every room is equipped for the age group and the garden spaces are incredible, each having their own garden. The management team have always been prompt to help answer any questions or concerns we had, and when my son had a major accident, the whole team helped look after him and support his time through recovery; they even sent a Build a Bear gift to make him feel better. I'm so pleased with the nursery that we have sent our second son here, currently in babies room and thriving from attending, especially being a 'lockdown baby' who barely met another person when he first started, he is social and funny and loves attending this setting, and what's nice is all the staff welcome both children, not just the staff that are in their rooms.
