The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My visit started positively as a sign advertised that the blood transfusion service was operating there as I passed. Intriguing, I thought 🤔, and walked in to be greeted by cheerful peeps who gave the impression that it's all about community, there was a full size basketball 🏀 court contained within. Not just about falling on your knees and yelling hallelujah into the sky. Then it dawned on me. These people were More-ons...... sorry, bit of a typo there, should've said Mormons, or perhaps the words are interchangeable in this context. Gold plates? Pull the other one Joseph Smith, you teller of the odd porky, eh? There was talk of conversion but the cynic in me thinks they're more interested in 10% of my state pension, rather than saving my soul. The building itself made an attempt at being good but failed, as most modern buildings do. I quite liked the glassy bits in the chapel but the rest of it was unremarkable. Next time I'm approaching a Latter-day Saints house of the holy I'll remember the words of Dione Warwick and "walk on by".
