- PAPaul AndersonSep 22, 20265.0Before anyone joins, read more literature and sources regarding the church and it's history. Hilariously, the most concerning facts and descriptions of the church come from 'History of the church' by J.Smith jr. It's also advisable to read 'Preach my gospel', and the missionary rulebook. The seemingly peaceful 'Book of Mormon' is a front for maybe the most concerning corporate 'church' of all time. The members and missionaries are lovely people, which actually makes it an outstandingly tragic institution. Missionaries are kids who have done little reading other than the faith-based scriptures. 10/10 I'll be there next sunday. Also, just a quick mention. The doctrines and covenants said that black people where born under the mark of Cain for not fighting hard enough with Jesus in heaven. It refers to them as a slur in the book. Not allowed to go to temple, or attain priesthood, until late 1970s. Ooft.
