I was completely taken in by the beauty of this nursery when I first visited. I loved their ethos around foraging, natural living and outdoor time. Unfortunately, my experience once my son attended was extremely distressing.
The nursery refused to follow my son’s dietary needs without a doctor’s letter. Anyone who has dealt with intolerances in babies knows how difficult it is to get formal testing at that age — even my GP was shocked that the nursery demanded this. My concerns were based on my own medical condition, my own intolerances, and the very clear symptoms my son showed when he ate certain foods. Despite explaining all of this multiple times, I felt dismissed and ignored.
My GP confirmed to me that when known or suspected food intolerances are ignored, it can cause inflammation in the digestive system, and ongoing inflammation can weaken and lower the immune system. This was medical advice given directly to me during this period. Based on this, and on what I personally witnessed in my son, I firmly believe that continuing to give him foods I repeatedly asked them to avoid contributed to his declining health.
During this time, my son contracted foot and mouth disease five times in a row, one case after another, and eventually ended up in hospital. I repeatedly raised concerns about the ongoing outbreak, but I did not feel that the situation was handled with the seriousness I expected.
As a single mother, this took a massive toll. I had to take around six weeks off work to care for him because he was constantly unwell. His immunity became so low that our GP told me to take him out of the country for sunshine and rest after nearly four months of illness. I did exactly that, and only then did he finally begin to recover.
When I returned home, after everything we had just gone through, I found bailiff letters from the nursery waiting for me. The financial pressure on top of the emotional and physical stress was devastating. I am still paying off those fees almost a year later.
This is my personal experience, and based on everything that happened — from his dietary needs not being respected, to the repeated illness, to the financial hardship that followed — I would not recommend this nursery. Please do not be taken in by how beautiful it looks. In my experience, the care, communication and duty of care towards both children and families were deeply lacking.

I can not say enough about how good this nursery is. My son started in January 2021, as a lockdown baby at just 14 months old, it was his first real social experience and wasn’t an easy transition for him from being home with mummy and daddy to going full time at nursery, but the nursery management, staff and especially my sons key worker made it so easy and where so supportive and helpful. Since then he has come on leaps and bounds and has developed and progressed so much and really loves going in. During this time I have seen endless improvement within the nursery and the child care they provide. The setting is superb and the team are truly outstanding… a gem in the Bright Horizons portfolio.
