My baby has been in the infant class, young toddlers and older toddlers. He absolutely loves the staff and they love him. You can tell they really care for the kids. I love that they have cameras and I can check in. They do art and activities daily. They send photos multiple times per day. I hate that I must send my baby to a daycare but he’s learning in a kind, nurturing environment and I’m so thrilled to have found this one.

I have a an infant son who started daycare at Five Star Academy at the age of 6weeks. As a first time mom, I was hesitant to put my young one under the care of others, but I am so happy and grateful I chose this company. The staff is extremely friendly and supportive. The lead infant teacher is amazing! She’s always on top of documenting daily information, pays careful attention to changes in my son’s sleep, eating, and health by communicating concerns about rashes or teething, and acknowledging development milestones she observes, and ensuring all other teachers are clearly informed of the kids individual schedules and needs if someone covers her class. When my son had physical therapy to treat a tortícolis diagnosis, the daycare ensured consistency in his treatment by also taking initiatives to help support him in by doing daily exercises to help him develop. The daycare also has a photographer come regularly and take seasonal photos which you can buy copies of. They even have lots of family events like icecream socials and trunk-or-treat. I can’t say enough positive things about this company and how wonderful they are. They’ve been a blessing to my family and will take care of your loved ones in every way possible!

I really love the staff and overall atmosphere at the daycare. However, my child is in the private Pre-K class, and I’ve noticed on the cameras that the lead teacher, Ms. C.C., is often on her phone instead of actively watching the children. I hope this can be addressed, because aside from that, everything else has been great

I wanted to give sometime before giving a review. The staff is amazing and loving. However i have a set a twins i sent here. This was their first time in school so one twin did really well. The other one had a tantrum on day one. Which I can understand since this is a new environment and 1st time away from me. Long story short he was not able to go back. To me was unfair since he did not get anytime to adjust. I am not sure who gives a child just one day but I'm assuming because it was to complicated for them. So for any parent who is unsure how you kid may react being away I say find someone that will have the patience. I signed him up some where else and by that Friday he was well adjusted and have been thriving since. It's been two months and he's so happy about school. He just needed a chance which this place did not give especially after collecting my money to register two kids.

Sign up. Pretty low tech. Keep copies of all documents because the director declined to give me a copy of a document later. This sort of secrecy is odd. Cameras: it's nice to see the kids. However, they do not allow you to view the camera footage. So be prepared to get a lawyer to subpoena the footage if you need to see it. Menu: they give descent portions. However if your child does not eat "x" be prepared to make sure they don't serve it to them. They don't have a good system to communicate to kitchen staff, teachers etc the dietary restrictions or preferences of children. By the way if you need substitions, be prepared for your child to be served the equivalent of prison food. If they don't do hamburger, they will serve your child bread and one slice of cold cheese and think it's ok. PRISON FOOD. They could at least do chicken nuggets or a better alternative than that. Work on you: you as a parent will be doing more to bring your child here than any other place I know. The items you have to pack and bring versus what the center provides is noticeable. If you leave, when you go to a new place you will be astonished at the difference. Trustworthiness of teachers: this is just poor. If they will do what I saw ON CAMERA, imagine what they would do if there were no cameras. Check you child for injuries before you leave the parking lot or at least when you get home. Document what you see. Notice the behavior of your teachers when you pick up your child. If something seems off, it is. If you specific instructions for your child, it is questionable if they will do it. The teachers have done what they wanted, instead of what I instructed. Incident reports : get copies of what you sign, and document on the incident report your observations. Don't let them tell the only story. I have seen untrue statements written on these reports because the teacher just assumes things that she did not see OR she does not want to take responsibility for what occurred. (Like saying a child bit someone, when the other child really just fell, headfirst into one of their book shelves). See, the later is a matter of poor supervision on the teachers part. The former is a way out, they can just blame the child. De facto restraints: watch the cameras in the afternoon after the teachers have cleaned the classroom. I have seen them restrict the movement of children so they can't go through the classroom , knock toys out of the child's hand if they pick one up in the area they just cleaned, and they force the kids to sit in ONE place until the parents pick them up. This is because they just cleaned the classroom and once the last child leaves they can leave. Communication: if they are going up in price they post in the app, have documents at the desk, and signs at the door of the class. If there is an outbreak of "x" they simply don't communicate the same. They should put such things in the app as well as post it at the door, so we as parents can determine if we want to bring our child there while "x" outbreak is happening. If you can over communicate about money, you can at least communicate adequately about outbreaks. Conduct of teachers: I am sorry to say it but I have witnessed teachers get back at parents by engaging in conduct that is detrimental to the child. Like, purposely try to spill milk, purposely NOT putting milk in the refrigerator when it is brought into the center, not offering your child food, purposely creating circumstances that are the direct opposite of what you instructed. I have had a person (Jamaican accent) roll her eyes at me because I didn't know where the water jugs are. Rude. This same Jamaican lady does not speak to parents she does not like...... childish. Promises: they say they will meet with you, but don't follow through (this happened with Jennifer Slayden) Teacher retention: if a teacher is caught doing something VERY wrong, they will retrain and keep her for retention. They just want to keep teachers. All in all, I can't bring my kid here. No trust.
