Everyone was very professional and kind during the visit to plan the obituary for my husband of 63 years. Afterward, they sent an email with very helpful information about grieving and information about settling the estate. This has been a guide for me to follow. It has helped in dealing with everything. I would recommend Conner-Westbury Funeral Home.

We can’t thank Mike and his staff enough for their help. We reached out from out of state with a favor, and they went above and beyond to make everything go smoothly. Their kindness, quick communication, and professionalism made a big difference for the family in their time of need. It’s always great to work with another funeral home that truly cares. We really appreciate you all. Direct Cremations, LLC in NJ

To Lacie, Caitlin, and staff of Conner-Westbury, Thank you for the extraordinary kindness, patience, professionalism, and unwavering support you provided during the services for my mom and dad. It was such an intense and emotional year but your compassionate care made an incredibly difficult time feel a little less heavy. Having served my family for generations, you truly honored our loved ones with dignity and grace. We are forever grateful. Warm regards, Amy Ruth Zipkin The Johnson Family

Frequently Asked Questions About Conner-Westbury Funeral Home

Do we need to have an obituary notice and what is included in one?

It is highly recommended to have an obituary notice that is either posted in a local newspaper or online. An obituary lets the public know that a death has occurred and provides them with information about the service. Obituaries generally include the deceased’s full name, age, city, and date of birth, as well as the city they were living in when they died. It also includes the name of the deceased’s spouse, along with the names of anyone else significant in their lives, such as parents, children, or grandchildren. Space may be limited in a newspaper obituary, but you might also wish to include a short sentiment on the life and legacy of the deceased. An online obituary or memorial website offers you the chance to add a lot more about the deceased.

What can be done with the cremated remains?

With cremation, your options are numerous. The cremains can be interred in a cemetery plot, i.e., earth burial, retained by a family member, usually in an urn, scattered on private property, or at a place that was significant to the deceased. (It would always be advisable to check for local regulations regarding scattering in a public place-your funeral director can help you with this.) Today, there are many different types of memorial options from which to choose. Memorialization is a time-honored tradition that has been practiced for centuries. A memorial serves as a tribute to a life lived and provides a focal point for remembrance, as well as a record for future generations. The type of memorial you choose is a personal decision.
