I moved here to Dunwoody Pines for 2 weeks now. My name is Marie White. The reason I'm here is Renatta Hamilton and her sweet spirit. At first i thought all she was is selling the apartments. I thought she was just a great sales person. You know what, when I got to know her true self she is a blessing to this company. Renatta the community development director has helped me from the beginning. She is so pretty but her spirit and her willingness to go above and beyond is what makes you fall in love with her. She helped me get a bed and 2 dresses as i told her i had needed that. She and Pierre Chism the Executive Director made sure I got a new appliance package. Renatta Hamilton will help you with all that you need and is an honest and beautiful person on the inside and outside. God blessed me to meet this wonderful person. Dunwoody is lucky to have her.

Spoke with Pierre Chism the ED. He was very helpful, responsive, and professional. Took time to listen to me and allowed me to present information to him. He is a great Executive and look forward to working with him.

I lived At Dunwoody Pines for over 4 years. The first couple of years were completely wonderful and exactly what I was looking for in a retirement community. However after a change in the management staff this place has fallen completely apart. The management staff has absolutely destroyed the family atmosphere we had at Dunwoody Pines. The management staff has absolutely no respect for the residents.

I only rate this location a 5 star because of the quality of service by Dining Room Coordinator named Joseph. His care for my great grandmother, based on her saying, has been quite exceptional. I'm happy to know that my granny is taken care of. Thanks Joseph!

My mom went shopping for a retirement community that made her feel independent while also providing a sense of security. And she found just that at Dunwoody Pines. Renatta Hamilton was the director that we worked with and she made the process seamless for my mom. She also answered all of my questions after my mom made the decision to move to Dunwoody Pines. The community itself is wonderful. Lots of things to keep someone engaged and my mom raves about the food!

Frequently Asked Questions About Dunwoody Pines Retirement Community

What does Independent Living in Dunwoody include?

Independent living communities cater to residents who need minimal help or no help at all with their activities of daily living – like bathing and dressing –but do want access to the myriad of benefits and amenities that retirement communities offer. In an independent retirement community, residents rent private apartments or cottages and then take advantage of shared spaces and amenities like walking paths, on-site gyms, and restaurant-style dining. Although residents live independently, some available services provide a more comfortable retirement, like chef-prepared meals, lawn care, home maintenance, and on-site salons. Independent living communities allow residents to experience resort-style retirement for a fixed monthly rent, which is both predictable and affordable.

Are Dunwoody Independent Living Facilities licensed?

Because senior independent living facilities do not offer medical or personal care, licensing is not required. For this reason, most independent living facilities who only offer one level of service are not licensed with a state board or department. However, some communities – often called continuing care communities – offer independent living in addition to other levels of care, like memory care or assisted living. Because these facilities do offer medical and personal care, they must be licensed by the department of health. Licensed facilities are subject to periodic surveys from governing bodies to ensure they continue to meet the requirements for certification.
